Pat 1923. Allows you to carry an extra spare. Cool accessory for your antique car or rat rod. No key for the Hurd lock, but I understand that is something a locksmith can deal with if you really need that feature. Bottom was slightly sprung. Malleable iron so that was an easy fix. You can no longer tell it was ever bent. Cold bend, so no paint or patina was lost. See pictures 7 and 8. Looks like decent original paint. Last 2 photos were snagged off the internet for illustrative purposes. Actual weight is 8 1/2 pounds.
