.The Nippon Denso starter motor fitted to the TRIUMPH can beprone to failure andis very expensive to replace. Thestarter is very reliable apart from the copper contacts in the solenoid which wear away.
Fortunately it only take 10 mins to replace the contacts once the starter is removed.
The usual symptoms with a contact failure is a clicking sound and intermittent starting. You may try 3 or 4 times and get a click click andon thenext try the starter works as usual.
