This conversion kit is designed to allowinstallation of a 3-bolt style camshaft into a 2006 and newer LS2/LS3 enginethat currently utilizes a single bolt camshaft. Some 2006+ Gen IV LS2/LS3engines originally used a single bolt camshaft which has been known topotentially shear the camshaft dowel pin which allows the camshaft to come outof time with the engine crankshaft, resulting in catastrophic damage. Thisupgrade kit allows use of the superior 3-bolt camshaft design.
This kit also includes the PerformanceHeavy Duty Timing Chain. This is a heavy duty single roller chain that uses animproved alloy steel and the sideplates have an increased thickness to improvestrength. This chain can be used on all LS engines and can be used with stockgears.
