This is an original GM cast iron intake manifold for a Small Block Chevy engine. This intake will fit all Small Block Chevy intake manifolds from 1955-1986. The casting number is 3844457. The casting date is B 14 64 which decodes as February 14th, 1964. The 3844457 intake manifold was used by Chevrolet on the following applications: 1964 327/250HP engine in Corvette, fullsize passenger car(Impala), and Chevelle, 1964 283/220HP engine in Chevy II/Nova and Chevelle. This is a real deal factory 4 barrel intake that was only used by the factory for one year. Don't miss this hard to find factory intake manifold.
This intake is in good original condition as shown. I see no breaks, repairs, or modifications to this intake. The casting number, casting date, and firing order castings are all intact and undisturbed. All threads are in good condition with no helicoils, or thread inserts. There is no major corrosion or porting. The underside of the intake is also in good shape. The heat riser passages are a bit carboned up and could use cleaning. The heat shield on the bottom has a dent in it and could be straightened. This is simply a very nice original intake manifold.
