This is a high grade exterior rated Vinyl Decal to repair your worn Reverse "R" switch for Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago cars equipped with the E-gear transmission. You will receive one decal.
This was CAD designed and cut in the USA and ships from the USA.
This was designed to make a simpler/less expensive correction of your worn R (reverse switch). You should clean away any remaining factory black coating where the "R" is to make sure there is none of the original coating showing if the sticker is not applied perfectly centered. Try to leave the black around the edges of the switch to also not show if the sticker is not applied perfectly.
The OEM switch is curved, so this is considered a little more difficult install. You must be careful not to create a fold when applying the decal. The switch also wiggles around so you will need a soft flat tool to press the decal around the curved edges. We used a body putty spreader. DO NOT use any tools that will damage your leather if you slip. Also DO NOT get any chemicals or cleaner on your leather (including alcohol). This may damage or remove leather dye. Installation is at your own risk and responsibility.
There is no warranty due to the possibility of poor installation or improper preparation. However, if you mess your decal up during installation, we will sell you a discounted replacement for $5 shipped. Please contact us if this happens.
This will ship via regular mail in a stamped envelope. Please allow for reasonable shipping times for a stamped envelope with USPS.
During installation keep in mind the center of the "R" is disconnected and must come away from the transfer paper and stay on your switch as your pulling it back. If it is not, make sure you lay it back down and apply more pressure and then try to lift the transfer paper again.

Vinyl Decal Application Instructions

Apply Decals in a dry environment with a temperature of at least 55° Fahrenheit/13° Celsius

Please ask us or refer to the internet or if you have any questions about installing your decal. There are many tutorials available online.

STEP 1:

Clean the switch face thoroughly with soap and water or rubbing alcohol. Do not get any cleaners on your leather or inside the switch electronics! It is recommended to do the final cleaning with rubbing alcohol. Try not to disturb any of the factory black coating around the edges of the switch since it will hide any misalignment of the sticker, but it must be clean. Do not use Windex or similar product because it will leave a residue. Do not use any other product that may inhibit adhesion of the vinyl.

STEP 2:

Prepare the sticker for application by firmly rubbing the transfer tape with a squeegee, credit card, or similar item. Make sure it does not have sharp edges or you may damage the decal. This will help removed any air bubbles and also ensure the application tape is properly stuck to the decal. The transfer tape may be clear or look like masking tape. This is the tape over the top of your decal. This will pull the decal off the backer and allow you to apply it.

STEP 3:

Peel the backing paper away from the transfer tape/decal slightly. The decal should remain attached to the transfer tape. This exposes the adhesive for application, so be careful at this point. If the decal clings to the backing paper and does not stay adhered to the transfer tape, slowly replace the paper backing and repeat STEP 2.

STEP 4:

Slowly lower the sticker onto the surface and rub it in place firmly with a squeegee or credit card (no sharp edges). Be very careful to not rub any tools against your leather! You will be rubbing against the transfer tape at this point. This protects the decal. For best results wait 24 hours before moving to the next step (optional). Depending on the size of your decal you may wish to only expose a portion of the sticker and apply it while pulling the backer from beneath to reduce the chance of air bubbles.

STEP 5:

Slowly peel the transfer tape off at an angle. Make sure the decal is not coming off with the transfer paper. If the decal pulls away from the surface, repeat STEP 4. Once the transfer tape is removed, you may use something soft to further press the decal. Be careful not to damage the surface or your surrounding dash or leather.
