Here’s another one of those V8 swapped imports that gearheads appreciate so much. This time it’s a Datsun (Nissan) with a domestic flair – and running gear. Let’s join Stevie (from S&S Motorsport) and Shawn (AutotopiaLA) as they give us all the details of this tire roasting machine.

This build began as a bone stock 1972 Datsun 240Z (in lime green). If you’re thinking that something doesn’t look quite right, it’s because the body has been upgraded with custom fender flares (4-inch front and 3-inch rear). No rivets here. These flares are sculpted and welded beautifully. The exterior is loaded with subtle aesthetic features and the paint is pristine (Bullit Mustang Green).

Now, for the good stuff. Under the hood is a built 5.7-liter LS1 V8 (from a Corvette or Camaro). It’s mated to a Tremec T-56 Magnum manual transmission. The intake manifold and radiator are custom fabricated, as are many of the components on this unique build. There’s a Ford 9-inch rear end out back. The car weighs approximately 2,300-pounds and makes 450hp.

Front and rear suspension are from Apex. The four-wheel disc brake setup is from Wilwood with an electronic emergency brake.
