Supercharged Domestic vs. Twin Turbo Import – Street Hits

December 20th, 2023

Returning to the streets, we find a matchup between a supercharged Corvette Z06 and a twin turbo Nissan GT-R. We’ve seen the GT-R before. It’s plenty fast. The Z06 looks and sounds fast. We’ll find out what’s up when the rubber meets the road.

The stock 2023 Nissan GT-R is arguably the best value in the imported supercar market. With an all-wheel drivetrain and a twin turbocharged V6 engine that can throw down 565hp, the GT-R is formidable on street or strip. In its current state, this Nissan is claiming 820whp. Performance modifications include SiR (Spray It Racing) hybrid turbos (with all the necessary supporting hardware) and an E85 tune. Limited weight reduction includes a front seat delete.

Prepared by Pretty Performance, the rear-wheel drive 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is sold with a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine that can produce 650hp in factory condition. Featured in this video is a Z06 that has been dramatically modified. Key upgrades include Kong supercharger porting, a performance camshaft and an E85 tune. In the current state, the Z06 owner is claiming 800whp. This Chevy has an exhaust note that will tickle your ears.

Are you picking the all-wheel drive twin turbo import or the rear-wheel drive supercharged (ported) domestic? This is going to be a close one.
