Under the hood is a neatly installed 3V setup. The running-gear, electronics and instrumentation are from a 2010 Mustang. The Roush M90 supercharger is from a 2005-2009 Mustang. The 4.6-liter 3V engine is basically stock with the Detroit Rocker cams and a set of exhaust headers. Before the cams and the pulley upgrade, the truck made 352hp and 345 lb.-ft. of torque.
With some fresh 93-octane fuel and a Roush Performance tune in the computer, the old F-100 was ready to open up on the dyno. Brent and Doug are thinking that they can get up over 400hp with the new setup. We want to see what happens when they bust the gas. The back wheels are strapped down and the RPMs begin to rise. Up, up and up until – Yes! – performance gains have been realized. How about 430hp and 413 lb.-ft. of torque? I call those pretty significant gains, indeed.
