Quarter-Mile Record Holding 617HP AWD Taurus

So you want to rip up the track in a sedan? Try this one on for size. How about an all-wheel drive 2010 Ford Taurus SHO? This bad boy holds the world’s record for the EcoBoost platform (in the 1/4-mile drag racing segment). It laid down an 11.5-second pass at 119.49 mph in November 2015.

This video shows us the professionals at Livernois Motorsports as they go about their business putting together a bulletproof 3.5-liter EcoBoost with proprietary four bolt main caps and cylinder head studs. This thing is line bored, balanced, and blue printed to be extremely smooth and durable.  The turbos have been upgraded to a pair of Garrett +2 units (sold by ATP), with a stock intercooler, custom hard tubing, and an Alky methanol injection system. The exhaust is totally custom and catless with a set of Basani high-flow mufflers. This combination is good for 617hp, with plenty of room to improve. Watch the dyno footage RIGHT HERE!
