Affectionally called Godzilla, the all-wheel drive Nissan GT-R is the top of the heap for Japanese performance machines. Powered by a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine, this reasonably priced supercar is capable of producing 565hp and 467 lb.-ft. of torque (in stock trim). The GT-R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 12.2-seconds @ 122 mph. Top speed is 195 mph (computer controlled). The car featured in this video has been modified with various bolt-on performance components and it’s running E85 fuel.
The rear-wheel drive Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the flagship of the Mustang lineup. It is equipped with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine that can produce 760hp and 625 lb.-ft. of torque. The GT500 can clear the quarter-mile in 9.8-seconds @ 144 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3-seconds. Top speed is an electronically controlled 155 mph. This Mustang has been treated to a upper and lower pulley upgrade for increased boost.
Shall we see how these two horses run in the brisk night air? Giddy-up.
