Offered by luxury car dealer Clive Sutton, the Mustang GT began life as a naturally aspirated vehicle. In order to get the most out of the 5.0-liter V8 engine, a massive supercharger was bolted to the top. The mustang is now capable of producing 859hp to the rear wheels. The transmission is a manual with a short throw shifter. Should make for some interesting starts.
Representing the European contingent is the BMW M3 with an inline 6-cylinder engine. Unlike the Mustang, the M3 was initially sold with a dual turbo setup. The twins were ditched for a single turbo arrangement with a larger turbocharger (or course). Tuned (and built) by Tom Wrigley Performance, this Beemer can conjure up 950hp at maximum boost. The M3 is also rear-wheel drive. It uses a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The car has been detuned today to accommodate the unprepped surface and the lack of drag slicks on the rear.
Giddy-up!
