Modified C8 Corvette vs. Tesla Model S Plaid – 1000ft. Drag Race

Who would win in a 1,000-foot drag race between a C8 Chevrolet Corvette and a Tesla Model S Plaid? How about of the Corvette was modified to enhance performance? Tonight, we will see as these two cars slug it out on the blacktop. Buckle-up because this one is about to get rowdy.

Let’s have a look at the machines:

The all-wheel drive Tesla is making it happen in the right lane. Powered by a trio of electric motors, the stock Tesla Model S can produce the equivalent of 1,020hp. As one of the most capable production vehicles on the planet, the Model S Plaid can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.99-seconds (according to Tesla). Incredibly, the 4,777-pound sedan can eclipse the standing quarter-mile in 8.73-seconds @ 157.8 mph. The Bisimoto/UNPLUGGED Tesla Model S has been upgraded with some lighter wheels, performance tires, carbon-fiber panels and a set of lightweight racing seats. There are also some aftermarket aerodynamic and downforce features added. All-in-all, it should be a silent killer.

As the latest iteration in the Corvette lineup, the C8 features a mid-engine rear-wheel drive platform. From the factory, this C8 Corvette Stingray utilizes a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 to make 490hp at peak RPM. Despite weighing 3,899-pounds, the C8 Stingray can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.1-seconds @ 122 mph. Featured in this video is a C8 Stingray that has been modified to increase performance. Mods include a twin turbocharger setup, custom performance tuning, drag slicks on the rear and Weld Racing wheels with bead locks. In its current state, this C8 Stingray is rated at 1,200hp maximum output.

Time to line these guys up and see who has got the goods.
