Steeped in a cloak of darkness, this boisterous street race is set to quicken the pulse and heighten emotion. A pair of modified vehicles are poised to go head-to-head in a contest of speed and acceleration. The machines are both modified and that is where the similarities end. Let’s have a closer look.

The 2018 Jeep Trackhawk is in the lineage of the most capable SUVs ever produced. With an all-wheel drivetrain and a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 (that can make 707hp), the Trackhawk is not backing down. Featured in this contest is a Jeep that has been upgraded with a set of high-flow fuel injectors, an aftermarket supercharger pulley, a catless exhaust system and a 93-octane tune. The problem with the Trackhawk is that it weighs-in at approximately 5,500-pounds.

In the other lane is a 2016 Ford Mustang GT. Equipped with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, the rear-wheel drive Mustang can churn out 420hp in stock trim. The Mustang runs a 6-speed manual transmission with a lower geared (4.56:1) rear end. It has also been modified with a set of aftermarket cylinder heads and performance camshafts. The Mustang has a Cobra Jet intake manifold with a stretched throttle body and a cold air intake setup. It has been tuned to burn E85 fuel and stripped down to reduce weight.
