Drastically Modified Street Hits – 60 to 160 MPH

Here’s a match between a pair of drastically modified street cruisers. This grudge race pits Chevy against Ford – as it has been for decades.

Representing the bowtie brigade is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. With a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 raging underneath the hood, the Z06 version of the Corvette can produce 650hp in stock condition. However, this ‘Vette is far from stock. The engine has been upgraded with a high-performance camshaft, full bolt-ons and it is tuned to burn E85 fuel. The supercharger is also ported and there’s a 150hp kit of nitrous on this baby. The car looks menacing and sounds even meaner.

On the Ford side, we have the widely respected Ford Mustang GT with its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 mill mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Mustang doesn’t make the power that the Z06 makes but it is quick off the line. Here’s the fix for the low horsepower problem: Add a ProCharger F1A supercharger and 50hp shot of nitrous. Look out Chevy owners, this guy is looking to dish out a serving of hurt feelings.

It’s going to be 60 to 160 mph for the first hit with a bonus round initiating at 40 mph. Big Frank has cameras on both cars. Hop in and hang-on.
