Cherry 700HP 1962 Chevy Bel Air Restomod

Shawn from Autotopia LA hit another homerun with this fabulous find. First, the color is Cherry Brandy and it’s over a charcoal basecoat. It is a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air with all the parts required to make it run like a modern race car. Prepare yourself – this is a super nice car.

It all starts under the hood with a 6.2-liter LS3 engine stroked out to 7.0-liters. Aftermarket fuel injection is from Holley. It is a multi-port setup with dual throttle bodies. Shifting duties are handled using an Art Carr 200 4R automatic transmission – with an overdrive. The owner claims the rear end is original, but it looks like a Ford 9-inch to me. He says the rear end has positive traction and 4.11:1 gearing. Whatever the case, it looks good.

Rear suspension consists of a custom two-link setup. The front is more of the same; aftermarket arms (upper and lower). There are fully adjustable coil over shocks on all corners. The (manual) brake system is from Wilwood and it is heavy-duty. Wheels are from Schott (20-inch front and 22-inch rear).

The interior is just as stunning as the exterior and just wait until he cranks it up. The exhaust has no mufflers and electronic cutouts for racing.
