All-Motor 600HP Ford Fairlane Restomod

Greetings gearheads, speed freaks and horsepower aficionados of every ilk. Allow me to introduce you to Blake and Valerie. They are the proud owners of this 1967 Ford Fairlane. Today, they will team-up to give us a walk around of the car and a brief test drive.

As you can see, pretty Valerie has on her work clothes for this video. The tour begins underneath the hood where Blake has removed the stock engine and replaced it with a 331 cubic-inch crate motor from Craft Performance. Craft garnered a certain degree of respect in decades past for building high-performance Ford engines – primarily for Cobra Mustangs and GT40s. They were known for maximum power and optimum durability. Despite the engine’s relatively small size, this mill is rolling loud and proud without a power adder (maybe a little nitrous).

The engine is mated to a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission.

The front steering and suspension are from a Mustang II. The rear end is a custom made four-link setup. The four-wheel disc brakes are from Wilwood and they are designed for drifting maneuvers.

The bad new is that the transmission broke before any real test driving was performed. We saw enough to know that driving this car was like wrestling a wildebeest on steroids. The good news? The Fairlane ain’t much to look at, but did you guys see Valerie?
