A pair of Nissan GT-Rs modified by SP Engineering broke both the ET and MPH records this week at Speedworld Raceway Park in Arizona. A black GT-R with the SPE900 package driven by Hing Yim ran 9.84 @ 148.42 MPH and a white GT-R with the SPE1000 package driven by Alex Shen broke the current ET record running 9.62 @ 149.8 MPH. The SPE1000 also ran a 150.65 MPH trap speed during another run with a 9.67 ET.

Both cars have similar modifications including larger Greddy turbochargers, larger injectors, fuel pumps, intercoolers, full exhaust systems, along with upgraded 1st gears in the transmissions. The SP1000 car is running more boost and a built motor with CP pistons and rings along with Carillo connecting rods. The SPE800 GT-R put down 794 horsepower and 784 ft-lbs of torque and the SPE1000 put down 866 horsepower and 849 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels on a Mustang all wheel drive dyno.

Now that we have a few GT-Rs running in the mid to high 9’s and trap speeds over 150 MPH, the next milestone will be a hard one, breaking into the 8’s. The power and trap speeds are just about there, just need to hold the power down on the launch for some 1.3x 60′ times, in the videos you can hear them spinning quite a bit, even on all 4 drag radials.
