Porsche 911 Turbo S vs. Whipple Ford Mustang GT – Street Hits

July 19th, 2024

It’s on like hotcakes on the streets (of Mexico) this evening. It seems that a grudge race is in the making. The interstate traffic is light, and the night air is hot as these two competitors roll into action. The sights and sounds are like nitrous oxide for the soul. Enjoy the action.

In the right lane is the 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. This beautiful German rolls off the assembly line with a turbocharged 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine that can make 640hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. At a curb weight of 3,646-pounds, the 911 Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2-seconds and clear the standing quarter-mile in 10.1-seconds @ 137 mph. Top speed is 205 mph (computer controlled). The Porsche featured in this video has been upgraded with a full accoutrement of bolt-ons and tuned to burn MS109 race fuel. It also has been outfitted with a methanol injection system. In its current state, this Porsche is capable of producing over 800hp.

On the left is the 2014 Ford Mustang GT. No slouch in stock trim, the Mustang GT came with a naturally aspirated V8 engine. Major upgrades include a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, a Gen II Coyote motor swap and an E85 tune. The Mustang owner is also claiming 800hp. Should be a good, close race.
