Modified Camaro SS vs BMW X6 M – Dig and Roll

March 3rd, 2023

Hold on a minute. Surely a bulky, luxury BMW SUV cannot keep up with a frisky Camaro SS. Not on the street. No way. Right?

This ain’t your ordinary SUV. The 2018 BMW X6 M is an all-wheel drive street freak with a 567hp hunk of twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 between the fenders. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4-seconds. She is a heavy girl at 6,505-pounds, but she can turn the standing quarter-mile in 12.4-seconds @ 103 mph. The BMW featured in this clip has performance exhaust downpipes and it has been tuned to burn E50 fuel.

First impression? This Camaro sounds lovely. The manual (transmission) Gen V Camaro SS came with a naturally aspirated all-aluminum 6.2-liter V8 engine. At a curb weight of 3,750-pounds, the SS could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1-seconds and blow through the quarter-mile in 11.5-seconds @ 117 mph. This car has been modified with a performance camshaft and exhaust headers. It has also been tuned to run E85 fuel.

Beginning with the dig race – as expected the Camaro jumps out front at the light. The twin turbo mule spools up and pulls alongside. What happens next? Watch the video!
