8-Second Mustang GT with Turbo Coyote Truck Motor

April 11th, 2023

Greetings drag racing fans, permit me to introduce Jaeson Chainz and his 2002 Ford Mustang GT. This car is a years-long endeavor involving an engine swap as well as other significant modifications.

Under the hood is the focal point. It’s a Coyote mill from a 2006 Ford F-150. The bottom end is stock with the exception of some aftermarket oil pump gears and a crankshaft damper. That’s a Gen III Coyote (Ford) intake manifold from a 2018 model. The turbocharger is a Forced Inductions 91-102 – winking out of the grille opening. The kit is custom fab. Maximum output is unknown because this guy is “street tune” only – no dyno.

The transmission is a Rosler Terminator Powerglide with an M&M Powerglide shifter. The rear end is an SN95 8.8-inch with a 3.73:1 final drive gear ratio. The wheels are RC Comp Hammers wrapped in Mickey Thompson rubber.

Inside, a custom dash from a 1966 Mustang is the showstopper. A Holley Dominator cluster lends a hint of modern performance to accompany the Kirkey racing seats and full roll cage.

This car is built and maintained for Drive-and Drag events such as Rocky Mountain Race Week, Hot Rod Drag Week and Sick Week. We look forward to seeing this team compete.
