1964 Pontiac GTO 455 V8 Pro Street - Extremely Nice - Gateway Classic Cars
I thought you'd like a look at his awesome Pro Street 1964 Pontiac GTO.
This car was painted back in the early 90's, but still looks nearly
perfect. It has been really meticulously maintained over the years. It's
powered by a very stout 455 Pontiac V8, that has been bored .030 over to a
461. It's topped by a polished Edelbrock intake and a Holley 4 BBL carb.
As you can hear in the video, it's plenty healthy too. All that power is
sent through a turbo 400 automatic, with
a 3500 rpm stall converter, to a narrowed Dana 60 rear with 3.73 gears and
Moser axles. The attention to detail on this car is really amazing. This
one really is about as clean as they come. I hope you find it interesting,
thanks for taking a look!

Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Kit, Organ, EP
With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from
Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together
as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to
electric piano. 011

1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible
The Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of
General Motors from 1964 to 1974. It was a muscle car classic of the 1960s
In early 1963, General Motors' management issued a ban on involvement in
auto racing. At the time, Pontiac's advertising and marketing approach was
heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that
strategy. With GM's ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac's young and
visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street
performance. The GTO was basically a violation of GM policy, but since the
GTO was an option package and not standard equipment, it fell into a
loophole in the policy.
The GTO underwent a few styling changes in 1967. The louver-covered tail
lights were replaced with eight tail lights, four on each side. The GTO
emblems located on the rear part of the fenders were moved to the chrome
rocker panels. Also the grill was changed from a purely split grill, to one
that shared some chrome. 9,517 GTO Convertibles were produced in 1967.
This is one of the most beautiful GTO's you'll ever see. The previous owner
passed away while in the process of restoring this car, and after his death
his widow had the car finished. The restoration was completed about 3 years
ago. Everything from the drive train, to the interior to the paint is new,
and it has the appearance of a show car.
The original Protect-O Plate and Owners Manual are included in the sale.
