Doug Kerhulas' last drag race-National Trail 1984
Kerhulas' meeting with the NHRA's ill conceived aircraft style arresting nets caused a closed head injury which ended his career. As Kerhulas' head was thrust forward from the quick slowdown the metal cables from the top of the net rebounded and hit him in the helmet at a very high speed.
He was a second round winner in the race.
This was Doug's last race as noted in National Dragster Magazine, cutting short a rising career. He recovered fully from his injuries.

Winged Express AA/FA
The very famous Winged Express Fuel Altered piloted by Mike Boyd. Footage from many years, Includes that heart wrenching moment in 2005 when we watched the front wheel come off and the Wing hit the wall. Mike was okay, it was sad to see the Wing so badly damaged. One of the most iconic cars in drag racing history. The Wing was restored and is again doing what it does best!

2007 NHRA John Force at Dallas Huge Crash *Replays*
Kenny Bernstein crosses the center line and hits some blocks, John Force's tires sudden blow and the chutes deploy ripping the car in half.

The G Forces were more than the chassis was designed to handle. When the tire went flat, the weight of the car went to one side & at that same instant the chutes were released with explosive force severing the cotter pins holding the chassis together with devastating results to John Force. Had the cotter pins not severed, John Force wouldn't have been injured.

A truly 'bizarre' Drag Racing Accident
Jacque Bidard, an experienced drag racer, knocks himself 'out-cold' during a ferocious start line launch and, whilst still unconscious, he unfortunately keeps his foot firmly planted on the throttle pedal - with disastrous results!
Event: the 'Nitro-Olympics' - held over the 1/8th mile distance drag strip.
