Looking bold and aggressive, the model has an evolutionary design which borrows a number of styling cues from the SLK. Starting up front, there's a ventilated hood and a single bar grille that is flanked by oversized headlights with integrated LEDs. Further back, the SL's iconic side vents have become more prominent thanks to a larger opening and longer chrome accents. Lastly, at the rear, there's LED taillights and a dual Exhaust system.

Mercedes-AMG is embarking on the 2012 roadster season in inimitably dynamic style: following on from the recent launch of the SL 63 AMG, the top eight-cylinder model, there now comes the presentation of the new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, the V12 roadster in the line-up from the Stuttgart-based manufacturer. The AMG 6.0-litre V12 "biturbo" (twin-turbocharged) engine develops a maximum output of 463 kW (630 hp) and maximum torque of 1000 newton metres. The result: exceptional performance, impressive power delivery and effortlessly superior dynamics. As with the SLS AMG super sports car, the use of an all-aluminium bodyshell results in a drastic reduction in weight. The new SL 65 AMG is some 170 kilograms lighter than before. The expressive front section is dominated by the new "twin blade" radiator grille and the front apron's lower cross strut in high-sheen chrome.

Mercedes-Benz present a completely redeveloped SL Roadster made for the first time almost entirely from aluminium. The full aluminium bodyshell of this newly developed vehicle weighs around 110 kilograms less than a comparable bodyshell constructed with the technology used for its predecessor. It thus reduces the overall weight of the new SL by 140 kilograms compared to its predecessor. The Mercedes SL is a convertible two-seater sports car with a focus on comfort over handling. It does a fantastic job of it though. The latest Mercedes SL cabriolet is all-new. The suble styling updates hide a state-of-the-art aluminium bodyshell and a choice of two powerful V8 engines with 429bhp and 530bhp, or a 3.5-litre V6 with 302bhp. Lighter, faster and more fuel efficient than the previous model, the 2012 Mercedes SL is also sharper to drive. Equipment levels are also very impressive but be prepared to pay a high price for all this technology. The flagship model is called the SL63 AMG. It features a huge 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that offers supercar levels of performance.
