This Mustang had repairs done to the rear end panel, quarter panel and a replacement bumper.
The damaged area was painted white before the color coat because it helps the red cover better, known as a ground coat.
The basecoat used in this video is from BASF, RM Onyx and the Clear is Glasurits 923-200. The panel was final sanded with 800 grit paper, the repaired area was 500 grit.

Applying the first coat of red. We will layer the coats until the desired color is achieved, which should take about 5 coats based on the test swatch. Check out pt5 for clear coat being applied over red to complete the job.

This is how to paint your car yourself. This is BASF paint being blended across a hood and fender. The clear being sprayed second is refered to a "wetbed", it allows the blend coat to land on a wet surface making for a better blend.

If you're spending more on a brand name quality kit for a BMW or Mercedes then you'll be paying from $5,000 -- $20,000 for the high end wide body kits.
Their molds are superior and made out of OEM style polyurethane which doesn't need much modification before being painted.
