The Nash Metropolitan is a car that was sold, initially, only in the United
States and Canada, from 1954--1962.
It conforms to two classes of vehicle: economy car and subcompact car.
In today's terminology the Metropolitan is a "subcompact", but this
category had not yet come into use when the car was made. At that time, it
was variously categorized, for example as a "small automobile" as well as
an "economy car".
The Metropolitan was also sold as a Hudson when Nash and Hudson merged in
1954 to form the American Motors Corporation (AMC), and later as a
standalone marque during the Rambler years, as well as in the United
Kingdom and other markets.
1950 Nash Statesman Super - Bathtub Nash.
I thought you'd like a look at this very nice 1950 Nash Statesman Super. My
friend Ken at 1963impala2dr, has a similar car that he calls the Green
Bean. This black one is in really nice condition and still retains most of
it's original parts. It has been repainted at some point, and it has some
new door panels, but other than that it's mostly original. It's powered by
a 184 Cubic Inch flathead six backed by a 3 spd manual with overdrive.
These cars were known for getting excellent fuel mileage for their time.
These cars are unique in every respect, with their aerodynamic shape,
enclosed wheel wells, and interesting interior design. I especially like
the gauge pod that rides just above the steering column, it is an
attention grabber for sure. I hope you find it interesting....thanks for

Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Kit, Organ, EP
With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from
Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together
as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to
electric piano. 011

1956 Nash Metropolitan Black and White
Just a real quick look at a 1956 Nash Metropolitan, a real unusual little
car. Then we glance at a Ford Pinto Wagon with woodgrain trim, not one of
our favorites, but to each his own. Thanks for watching.

1961 Nash Metropolitan hardtop
Nice little car..part of American Motor's offering. There was also a
Hudson version, with just a different name plastered on the car. This was
truly an import, from England, with an Austin engine, sold at Nash and
Hudson dealers here. It was a nice counterpoint to Rambler American
compacts and Rambler Rebel and Ambassador full sized cars.
