Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S) review - CarBuyer

Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/toyota/gt-86/coupe/review The Toyota GT86 has been charged with injecting a little excitement into the Japanese brand's dull and dependable image. Developed in partnership with Subaru, the rear-wheel drive coupe promises to mix driving fun with great value for money. The GT 86 is priced at around £25,000, and is aimed squarely at entry-level versions of the evergreen Audi TT. While the Toyota isn't as attractive as the sleek Audi or muscular Nissan 370Z, it still has the ability to turn heads. And what the interior lacks in quality and cutting edge design, it more than makes up for with generous standard kit. But the GT86 is car that demands to be driven rather than looked at. Sharp and engaging handling, a characterful 2.0-litre flat four petrol engine and strong brakes help make the Toyota a number one choice for back road blasts. Porsche 911 (991) review - CarBuyer
Read the full review here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/porsche/911/coupe/review One of the longest running sports cars in existence, the latest Porsche 911- code-named the 991, will go on sale in the UK from December 2011. Featuring a lower roof, more bulbous headlights and sharper tail-lights the front track is also wider, improving handling. The engines have received several tweaks too. The standard Carrera's 3.6-litre flat six cylinder engine is replaced by a smaller 3.4 that is more efficient but produces more power, at 345bhp. The 3.8-litre found in the Carrera S now produces 394bhp. Performance when fitted with the PDK twin-clutch gearbox and optional Sport Chrono Pack is very impressive. The standard Carrera sprints from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds whilst the Carrera S can nail the benchmark in just 4.1 seconds. The interior has received a major makeover that is inspired by the Panamera, but with fewer switches. Most owners will opt for the PDK gearbox but Porsche also offer a seven-speed manual option - the first of it's kind in a production car.

New Mercedes A-Class review - CarBuyer
Read the full review here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/mercedes/a_class/hatchback/review Hi. I know lots of you have asked for a review of the new Mercedes A-Class so we thought we'd do a special extended video - it's over nine minutes! Hope you like it. We will return to the usual length videos for our next review. Until now, Mercedes hasn't offered a rival to premium hatchbacks like the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3 or VW Golf. The handsome new A-Class changes that, aiming to attract younger buyers to the brand. Featuring a much lower roofline and detailed creases on its side, the car looks much sportier. It's available with a range of engines, including a diesel that emits less than 100g/km -- the first Mercedes to do so. A hot 208bhp 2.0-litre turbo A250 is also planned. Prices are competitive with the car's A3 and 1 Series rivals.

Chevrolet Camaro Convertible - CarBuyer
For the money there are few drop tops that come close to the performance and head-turning capability of the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. With a 6.2-litre V8 derived from a Corvette it has more than 400bhp meaning a sub six second 0-62mph sprint time and looks that are 100 per cent American muscle car. Thankfully, unlike muscle cars of old it can go round corners without falling over.

Fiat 500C review - CarBuyer
On first sight of the Fiat 500, you could be forgiven for thinking you had stepped back in time... Fiat's recreation of its famous 1960s city car is so faithful; you really can park the new and old models next to each other and compare like for like. Following on from the massive success of the 500 hatchback, Fiat wasted no time in removing the roof to create the diminutive 500C cabriolet. It's not a true convertible, though, as only the centre section of the roof folds down, and the window frames on either side remain in place. The range of small and cheap to run petrol and diesel engines from the hatchback is carried over, and unsurprisingly the 500C drives similarly to the hatchback, with light and easy controls. The same cute, retro looks are a big part of the appeal, and a big selling point for the 500.

Volkswagen Golf GTI review - CarBuyer
See the full review here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/volkswagen/golf/gti-hatchback/review The latest Volkswagen Golf GTI is a lesson to other hot hatch makers in design, build quality and image. Factor in impressive performance and genuine day-to-day practicality, and it's no wonder the famous GTI badge still proves so popular. It's available as a three or five-door hatchback, and is based on the standard Golf. The GTI has recently faced tough competition in the form of the Renaultsport Megane 265 and Ford Focus ST. The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has 207bhp in standard guise, while the limited-run Edition 35 comes with 232bhp, although that's not as much power as the Megane or Focus. Performance is strong and the handling sporty, but it's more comfortable than its rivals and boasts a high-quality interior.

New Audi A4 review - CarBuyer
Read our full review of the Audi A4 here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/audi/a4/saloon/review With a wide range of petrol and diesel engines on offer, a huge list of options and a choice of different suspension set-ups, Audi A4 buyers have plenty of choice. For the ultimate in comfort and low running costs, go for the 2.0 TDI in SE trim, but for a sportier drive the 2. TFSI turbo petrol model in S line trim is the best bet - although you'll need to ask yourself if you can live with the stiff suspension all the time. Whichever model you choose, you'll be rewarded with an excellent all-rounder, and as soon as you get behind the wheel and experience the high quality interior, you'll realise why the A4 is so popular. Mercedes SL-Class review - CarBuyer
To all our loyal YouTube subscribers, you may have noticed this is our 200th upload. We thought you'd like to see a nice new Mercedes, so we chose to review the SL for this landmark moment. Thanks for all your support over the last 200 videos. Lots of love, Mat and Rebecca For full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/mercedes/sl_class/cabriolet/review The Mercedes SL is a convertible two-seater sports car with a focus on comfort over handling. It does a fantastic job of it though. The latest Mercedes SL cabriolet is all-new. The suble styling updates hide a state-of-the-art aluminium bodyshell and a choice of two powerful V8 engines with 429bhp and 530bhp, or a 3.5-litre V6 with 302bhp. Lighter, faster and more fuel efficient than the previous model, the 2012 Mercedes SL is also sharper to drive. Equipment levels are also very impressive but be prepared to pay a high price for all this technology. The flagship model is called the SL63 AMG. It features a huge 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that offers supercar levels of performance. 2013 Subaru BRZ vs Scion FR-S 0-60 MPH Mile High Mashup Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The almost identical 2013 Subaru BRZ and the 2013 Scion FR-S herald the return of the light and affordable rear-wheel drive sports car. Jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru there's very little that separates the two twins except for minor suspension differences. But since both cars can be purchased as with either an automatic transmission or a manual one we of course want to know which one is faster to 60 @1 mile above sea level...the automatic Subaru BRZ or the 6-speed manual Scion FR-S? Check out this fun TFLcar Mashup Review to find out.

Subaru Legacy review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/subaru/legacy/estate/review Previous versions of the Subaru Legacy Estate had a reputation for offering robust, practical transport. Even though the current version has added a dose of much needed luxury and interior comfort, it sticks to those principles. Available only as an estate and with just two engines and trim levels, the range isn't massive, but all cars have plenty of equipment and offer punchy performance. Four-wheel drive is standard, and while it's not an SUV in terms of ground clearance, it can handle surprisingly rough terrain. On smoother roads it's comfortable, and has loads of space for people and luggage.

Top 5 Slowest 0-60 MPH Cars @1 Mile above sea level
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) What's the slowest car from 0-60 MPH at 1 mile above sea level? That's pretty straightforward question and one that we are prepared to answer. In the first half of 2012 we've tested a lot of slow cars from 0-60 MPH at altitude. As you may know less air also means less power so our 0-60 MPH times are different from those at sea level. Also turbocharges and supercharges help to make up for the power loss. So what Top 5 Slowest 0-60 MPH Cars @1 Mile Above Sea level in 2012? Watch this video to find out.

King of Drift: Keiichi Tsuchiya drives the Toyota GT86
With the launch of the Toyota GT86 well under way, we've discovered a brand new sport that will give us the chance to race our new GT86 against the clock. Called Drift Sprint, we developed the challenge with the help of "Drift King" Keiichi Tsuchiya, who joined us earlier this year to approve the course. Our track has also been fine tuned with help from Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe and Top Gear Magazine's Ollie Marriage -- both highly capable drivers. As our video shows, the idea is simple. Racing against clock, a combination of car control and raw speed is needed to complete the course as quickly as possible. For a 'behind the scenes' look at this video, read our recent post on the Official Toyota Blog: http://blog.toyota.co.uk/behind-the-scenes-with-drift-king-keiichi-tsuchiya-and-the-toyota-gt86.

Suzuki Swift Sport review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/suzuki/swift/sport-hatchback/review The new Suzuki Swift Sport is a hot hatch aimed at buyers looking for strong performance combined with maximum value for money. Competing against the Renaultsport Twingo and Ford Fiesta Zetec S, the hot Suzuki comes with a bargain price tag of under £15,000. Powered by a 134bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine and featuring firmer sports suspension the Swift is very entertaining to drive on twisty, narrow roads - so much so, we named it CarBuyer's 2012 Best Hot Hatchback. It also has a good quality interior and generous cabin space for such a small car. Hyundai i40 Saloon review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/hyundai/i40/saloon/review The Hyundai i40 is big and bold, with sharp looks that have no problem turning heads. The car makes a stylish, practical choice for families - and thanks to its range of efficient engines is also a good-looking option for cash-conscious company car buyers. If you are looking to cut your motoring costs, bear in mind that the car's 1.7-litre diesel engine can do 62mpg, but remains powerful and responsive. The car is good to drive, too, and while it's not quite as composed on winding roads as a Ford Mondeo, it comes close. The six-speed manual gearbox is light to use and the interior is decent quality. Cars are generally well equipped -- and comforts such as air-conditioning, nine airbags for added safety, and reclining rear seats are offered as standard. Practical, cheap to run and good to drive, the Hyundai i40 is a fine car for you and all the family, whether you're on business or heading on holiday.
