1972 Buick Skylark ride
This is a video of my late brother Andrew and his 1972 Buick Skylark. Andrew was undergoing chemo at the time this video was shot so it was one of his last rides in the car. He had the car for 20 years and performed all sorts of modifications on it such as rebuilding the engine, converting the car to a five speed manual and toughening up the suspension. The car is a Buick 350, 4 bbl and five speed. Andrew passed away on December 31st, 2006. The music is from King Crimson.
1972 Buick Skylark
1972 Buick Skylark with a Hi-Compression Buick 350-4
I've had this car since October 8th 2010, I'm a senior in High School and it is my first car, my dad payed for half of it and I payed for the other half. I pay for the performance goodies that go into it and the occasional parts that break too. I love driving this old monster even though premium gas prices are outrageous but the rumble and roar of that massive V8 are well worth it. I take pride in this car and my dad and I do most of the work on it ourselves, it's somewhat of a father-son project. We've done nothing but make this car a heck of a lot better than it was when we got it. In the great words of GS Club of America, going fast with class, that's what these Buicks do.
Detials:
Stock HP: 175hp (for 1972 Buick 350-4 8.5:1 compression)
Rear-wheel HP: 226hp @ 4326 RPM (should be a little higher with the Hyfire and Mallory coil)
Rear-wheel Tourqe: 307.8 lb-ft @ 3372 RPM (should also be a little higher)
Net HP: approx. 260hp
Compression: 9.5:1 (not sure, but definitely higher than stock because without prem fuel I get spark knock with the correct fuel to air mixture)
Rear-end gears: 2.73:1 Open Differential (plan on getting a Limited Slip one)
Transmission: turbohydramatic 350 (with a shift kit for fun :D)

Kolak Exhaust on a WJ: Flowmaster 70 Series vs Super 40
Comparison of the Kolak Exhaust. Same vehicle used: 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7L v8 engine, K&N FIPK, Superchips, 3" pipe from Y back, Car Sound Magnaflow high flow cat, muffler, and 3" tailpipe. Recorded the clips with the FM 70 series and the above setup, then had the muffler removed and the Super 40 installed and then recorded the clips. You can hear a faint difference in the two mufflers, with the 40 being slightly louder and also deeper. Been running the Super 40 for 8 months now, and much prefer the sound of the 40 over that of the 70.
