Remember your high school car? Who doesn't? If you grew up in the '80s or '90s, you might have had a car just like this '72 Chevelle, or like most of us, you might have been driving total junk. We're older now and way out of school, but sometimes we wonder what our high-school beater could have been had we known more about cars. In the spirit of nostalgia, we are going to hammer this car into an awesome cruiser in one weekend. It's not going to be a high-dollar build. Instead, we are going to add only one swap-meet speed part and use the rattle can and some simple ideas to make the car cool. Then we are going to cruise it around and fix stuff when it falls off.. To join us, visit CarCraft.com/Chevelle on January 10, and watch the action live.

Release The Draguar! Building a Blown Jaguar Rat Rod - Roadkill Episode 7
On this episode of Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan do unspeakable things to a '74 Jaguar XJ12, one of about 4,700 made. Namely, they cut a giant hole in the hood and install a Weiand 6-71 Supercharger and twin Holley carburetors on the 350ci Chevy V8 that was already installed in the car when it was purchased for $1,000. But things can never be easy, so the Supercharger installation is staged in the parking lot of Gotelli Speed Shop in South San Francisco. Then the duo hits the road, making their way to Sacramento Raceway, where they can finally unleash "The Draguar" at the strip.

On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, we raise a '66 Buick from the dead. After spending 33 years sitting outside in the desert, the broken down Buick Special is revived by David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of HOT ROD and Rick Pewe of 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine.
Rick's mother bought the car when it was near new and parked it when the transmission failed in 1978. In 2011, the guys spent two and a half days wrenching on the car, with the hopes of driving it home from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Come along for the ride and see what happens!

Extreme Elco Engine Swap! - Roadkill Episode 4
On this episode of Roadkill, David Freiburger, Mike Finnegan and a carsick dog drive a '69 El Camino 500 miles from home (on seven cylinders) to change an engine in the parking lot of Summit Racing.
The story goes that Finnegan's wife's grandfather bought this1969 Chevy El
Camino brand new, and it's been passed down through the family, finally to
her. It's a solid car, and the suspension has been hopped up, but the
all-original 350 engine was smoking like a freight train. That didn't stop
the guys from limping it from Los Angeles, California to Sparks, Nevada,
where Summit Racing has a fully-stocked warehouse.
Summit sells every speed part and replacement part on Earth, including the 420hp, 383ci crate engine, so the logic was that the guys would save time on the engine swap because they could walk right into the store instead of driving to a parts store multiple times, as they would have back home.
So how long will it take a couple gearheads to change an engine outside in a snow flurry? Will the EPA shut them down before they can finish? And what happens when you let a carsick dog ride shotgun? Watch to find out!

Hot Rod Time Machine: Old vs New
Just How Good Were the Good Ol' Days? To find out, we've gathered three modern high-spec ponycars and matched them with their glory days ancestors. We're pitting a 2011 Camaro SS against the '69 Camaro SS396 that inspired its design; a 2011 Challenger SRT8 meets the '70 Challenger it so faithfully resembles; and a freshly minted Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible meets its '69 forebear.
