Buick - History Documentary (1995)
This video is a wonderfully-done documentary on the history of Buick as presented in 1995 from the History Channel's archive. Here is their description of the video verbatim:
"No one would have believed that the tinkering of a plumber would turn into the foundation of the world's largest corporation. But it did. David Dunbar Buick invented a process to adhere porcelain to tubs and other bathroom fixtures. But the Scottish immigrant dreamed of making a mark out of the bathroom, and set to work building a car. By 1900, he enlisted the aid of another inventor, Walter Marr, and they built their first vehicle. Their invention attracted the attention of one of Michigan's wealthiest men, William Crapo Durant, the president of the world's largest buggy-building business. As soon as he drove one of Buick's early creations, Durant realized that the days of the horse and buggy were over. He teamed up with Buick, and the two went on to make history. By the thirties, Buicks were regarded as some of the finest cars ever made. From the first Buicks through the birth of General Motors and into history, this is the compelling story of the partnership that eventually became the basis for the largest company in the world."
Supercharged home made Straight Eight by Desperate Dan Vid 2
Built in a shed, it fired up first go. I was hoping it would sound real lumpy like a drag engine, but it runs too smooth, and it's too quiet even with unsilenced 9" pipes! The timing was a pain to sort out the Rover distributor runs backwards, I had to take the heads off to work out the firing order!!! See the shed it was built in on Vid 1.
Added May 2012: OK, my nails are dirty, maybe because I'm an engineer & build stuff? Maybe your nails are clean because you can't build eff-all & just sit behind your computer? C'mon folk, get a life.

1919 Buick First start since 1952
This is the first startup of this 1919 buick six roadster that had been sitting in a barn in ohio since 1952. It was parked there with a bad differential. My boss bought it on Ebay and i gently disassembled the engine, cleaned out the 50+ year old oil, freed up the piston rings and put it back together. I had to substitute a newer coil to get a strong spark and had manually filled the float bowl of the carburetor. No fuel pump was hooked up or water in the engine hence the short run time. This is a very cool early overhead valve engine with an aluminum crankcase, cast iron cylinder block, roller tappets, exposed valvetrain, zero gap piston rings, and electric start. This car had about 14,000 miles on the odometer. Enjoy the video! Check out my other video/slide show for engine disassembly pictures.
1952 Buick Super Dyna Flow Survivor in great shape w/63K Miles - $OLD!
The price on this car has just been lowered for quick sale and is part of a collection that is being liquidated.
You simply won't believe it unless you drive it, but this Nassau Blue metallic 1952 Buick Super Series 50 Dyna Flow has been checked out so thoroughly in house we would not hesitate to gas it up and drive it to L.A. from Portland! This 4-door sedan is powered by a Fireball F263ci inline 8 and has a Dyna Flow automatic transmission to works very well. A survivor, less than 63K original miles believed true, also believed to be the 284th Buick Super Dyna Flow off the Flint, MI line. A good interior for the age of the car and the body is in great shape as well with NO rust. The quality of yesterday remains in this car--the AM radio and heater still work. Chrome and stainless are in very good shape, all the emblems are still there and it has wide whitewall tires.

1947 Buick Super 4 door Sedan Blk
Just to show you that Buick had a very nice family sedan available post war. Notice how nice the fabrics are, surely long wearing, and the bilateral symmetry of the dash..notice the clustering on both sides of the radio speaker. Notice also that the turn signal stalk is on the right side of the steering column, next to the gearshift. The pedal operated parking brake is interesting too, most parking/emergency brakes were of a pistol grip type at this time. Dynaflow would not be available until the 1949 model year.
