The 2014 Cadillac CTS leaks. The 2014 Buick LaCrosse rolls out. And a wild weekend at Formula One in Malaysia.
Images of the 2014 Cadillac CTS were "leaked" over the weekend. The next-generation sedan will drop all its covers at the New York auto show on Wednesday. The pics show a new squared-off front end, sleek LED lights, along with leather and wood, which we assume is for the interior. We're not completely sure this wasn't a sanctioned leak, which would fall under our War on Teasers hashtag, but it reveals more than one winglet or vent, so we'll let it pass.
The 2014 Buick LaCrosse was also revealed before the New York show. The new sedan gets upgrades all around, with new headlights and front fascia styling, a refreshed rear end, and more technology inside. The LaCrosse gets the newest version of Buick's IntelliLink system, which uses swipes, pokes and pinches like a tablet. There was lots of racing news over the weekend, but the biggest story was Sebastian Vettel winning in Malaysia after ignoring orders from the team. Mark Webber was in the lead after the final pit stops, and the Red Bull team told Vettel to hold in second, securing a one-two for the team. Vettel ignored them, and after duking it out with Webber through several corners, passed him to take the checkered flag. The team confirmed the orders after the race, letting the press know that Vettel disobeyed. We'll have more on this throughout the week, so keep up with this story at autoweekracing.com.
Finally, Autoweek digital editor Rory Carroll recently took advantage of our spring-like weather and took a '70s-edition Beetle convertible out for a spin. He admits his weakness for brown-colored cars and discusses the merits of top-down fun. Click on the link below to see the full video review.

2013 Chevrolet Corvette C7 (SpyShots)

The next generation Chevrolet Corvette C7 has been spotted for the first time. Both a test model of the convertible and the coupe were caught while testing. The upcoming Corvette appears to be more compact than the current model (C6).
The new Corvette is rumored to be powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine with direct injection and variable valve timing. This engine will likely provides up to 440hp. The 2014 model of the Corvette will also be available with a seven-speed manual transmission.
The next generation of this American super car will be built in Bowling Green, Kentucky and could be launched in 2013 and commercialized in 2014.
