1997 Grand Prix GTP ABS Problem
Basically, the ABS light goes on and stays on.. I know that means that the system isn't working so well.. The effects of it is that the steering gets tight instead of the LOOSE steering the car should have.. I think that it is common in these cars because I have seen some vids on youtube and around the internet of peoples cars with the same problem.. I tried unplugging the plugs on the ABS module itself but no effect.. The light still goes on.. I even got under the car and unplugged the plugs at each wheel for the sensor.. NO EFFECT.. I have done a little research and I'm leaning towards believing that one of the speed sensors is gone or I might have to replace the actual hub itself.. ADVICE/HELP WILL HELP ME.. Thanks..
Bleeding difficult to bleed brakes with an ABS module with one person
I replaced every hard and flex line on my 2001 tahoe... the abs module is located underneath the drivers seat on the outside of the vehicle beside the frame. what a stupid design... thanks GM. Anyway... ABS modules can be a bear to bleed even with a vacuum bleeder tool. This video describes a very basic way of bleeding and filtering your brake lines. You would be amazed with the amount of particulate that was caught by the filter. The hose in the video cost about $10 at the hardware store.
