Finally brought her in for Dyno tuning. I just wanted a conservative tune that was safe across all RPM ranges. A few months later I found out the fuel pump filter was clogged up. When the filter was changed, the tune from this Dyno session ended up being way too rich. So I think another 20 whp would be easy to get out of the car without any other changes. BTW the greddy turbo doesn't flow enough air for the engine (this turbo kit was designed for 6 psi Boost, and I'm running it almost twice that). Assuming there is a 15-20% drivetrain loss on the rx-8, that puts me at 312 - 326 hp with a very conservative tune with that clogged fuel pump. Car is running with standard 93 gas. Just to show you the inside and out of my car, plus how it sounds.. The new vented hood will eventually be painted Sunlight Silver. Rims are from Rays (17 lbs ea). No racing, just regular driving.
Secondary point of this video is to show that my BOV is extremely sensitive and can open and close with as little as -10 PSI. Just about every BOV on the market requires 0 to 4 psi to even start to open up. I never even have to hit 0 psi to do it. See my other videos for BOV info

The RX-8 has a 1.3L Wankel Rotary Engine which makes an impressive 197 HP while paired to a lame 4 speed auto.
When it comes to an RX-8 of this year, best opting for one with a 6MT which also the engine is tuned to deliver an additional 41 HP (238 HP total)
Its impressive that an engine of this displacement can deliver so much power. But these rotary engines are by no means fuel efficient. MPG's are comparable & sometimes worse to that of a V8. Interior is a weebit cramped, few mechanics out there specialize in repairing these engines if it ever needs servicing, & overall reliability of the RX-8 hasnt been great. I would much rather go for the much simpler MX-5 IMO.

Just installed the RFL (really fcking loud) BOV. It is loud, but has a nice rush of air sound to it. Next week I'll have a really unique BOV installed :)
