Andrea Carli (ITALY) © 2007-2012 http://www.bigblueroadster.net/home.html This Promotional Video about my Service Section (available also for International Smart Roadster owners) shows the "before & after" my Service regarding two very difficult problems of the smart roadster models with soft top: Problem no.1: The soft top detaching from the front and rear hoops. Problem no.2: The incorrect folding of the soft top during the opening. Here's what you have to know: Problem no.1: Detached soft top. Diffusion: Very high. Since the first models (April 2003) to the Brabus Xclusive ones (November 2005). Cause: The glue/mastic/cement used by Factory is not enough stronger. The "opening/closing" functionality of the smart roadster soft top at any speed (I tested personally that at 170 km/h - 107 mph) is the main cause of the detaching. Nobody knows how to fix it, but me. My fixing procedure : _ It lasts forever. _ No sign of glue (spots, marks, etc.) both from the interior and from the exterior _ Very quick fixing: 1-2 hours, depends on your "detaching percentage". _ You can open/close the soft top at any speed without any problem. Problem no.2: Uncorrect soft top/roof Folding. Diffusion: Very high, including the Brabus and the "Special Edition" models. Effects: You can damage both/either the roof bar seals and/or the roof engine and/or the canvas. Nobody knows how to fix it permanently, but me. My fixing procedure : _ It lasts forever. _ No visible signs of the fixing. _ Very quick fixing: 1 hour. _ You can open/close the soft top at any speed without any risk of detaching.
