Trans & Clutch 4 - Installing The Clutch
What you wanted to know about clutches but were afraid to ask.
I'm putting a ACT MB1-XTSS on the car in this video. Step height, clutch dowell pins, bolt part numbers, alignment and various clutch parts are described in this video. It's part of an all-inclusive drivetrain tech piece I'm working on that's broken up into sections to maintain focus on the individual processes involved.
Ford Ranger & Mazda B-Series Pickup Clutch Hydraulic Release System Bleeding Procedure Part 2
The Ford Ranger and Mazda B-Series are very challanging when it comes to bleeding the hydraulic clutch release system, specifically due to the trapped air in the master cylinder and pressure line. This video shows the technique that we use in our installation lab when we work on one and it is what we recommend to diagnosis the release system, identify the problem area and then "burp" and gravity bleed the system. If you have a question the best way to contact us is at 1-800-258-8312 press 4 8-5 EST. Presented by Gary Croyle.
Diaphragm clutch alignment How to do it without a tool just by eye no alignment tool needed
http://www.diy-dvds.com
This is some information on how to line up your clutch plate prior to tightenting the pressure plate up to the flywheel. Its easy to do without the tool if you take your time by eye and using a socket you will probably have lying around the job. I explain a bit about the clutch and what to look for and youu see the gearbox go back on afterwards. Why does a clutch squeak? check the plate springs look at the flywheel condition check the gearbox input shaft. Tons more on the dvd at www.diy-dvds.com Filmed at Buzbys Garage Chingford E4
Bleeding External Clutch Hydraulic Release Systems with Bleed Screws
Bleeding External Clutch Hydraulic Release Systems with Bleed Screws
In this video Gray Croyle demonstrates a bench bleeding technique for clutch master cylinder and external slave cylinder which has a bleed screw.
Actual bleeding time is unedited - it takes roughly 4 minutes.
Time: 1:55 - 5:55
Ford Ranger & Mazda B-Series Pickup Clutch Hydraulic Release System Bleeding Procedures
Video shows an easy way to bleed the clutch hydraulics on a Ford Ranger or Mazda B-Series pickup. We also have a video Ranger Bleeding Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91IYY_YENRw that shows the procedure on an actual truck. (Presented by Gary Croyle of Perfection)
Video Topics include:
- Describing symptoms of air trapped in the release system (i.e. no release, poor release, gear grinding, can't put into 1st or reverse)
- Bench Testing & Bleeding of Clutch Master Cylinder
- Testing Clutch Master Cylinder on Vehicle
- Inserting clutch line into new Perfection TECH-Link™ connector
- Gravity Bleeding of Slave Cylinder
- Demonstration of proper plate lift after successful clutch bleeding
This whole clutch bleeding procedure was done using absolutely NO special tools. Only a Philips screwdriver was used. You can easily do this too!
Try this procedure on your next Ford Ranger or Mazda pickup clutch job. You will be glad you did. It works, its easy and you will save lots of time!

Trans & Clutch 1 - Remove Transmission
This is the first in a multi-video series regarding clutch tech. The clutch itself is a simple mechanism, but it's buried deep in the engine, so you can't just cover the clutch. First, you have to cover how to remove the transmission to get to it.
This project started off strange, got kind-of not-good, and then took a turn for the worst. The typical clutch job is not as difficult as the next video will display, but it's good this happened to me because I film this kind of crap. If for some asinine reason you encounter the kind of failure I experienced, you'll know what to do after the next video. Clutch assembly will be covered in a third video.
About the car:
You saw the other assembly video. You know when I put this thing together. You know it doesn't come out to play when it's cloudy. I've had it on the road less than an earl change. Freshly rebuilt TRE Stage 2.5 trans with a brand new ACT 2600 and a sprung 6-puck (MB1-XTG6) on a stock flywheel. This is Transmission #4.

This video covers the step by step that I went through to replace a clutch on a 2002 Ford Focus. This is the first 'video manual' that I've shot in the new shop and I think it's a better video for it, I really enjoyed working in the new space. Trans & Clutch 6 - Bench Bleeding the Clutch
I'm bench-bleeding a clutch slave cylinder and installing it on the car, then bleeding the rest of the hydraulics. This video covers 2 processes. You can bleed everything on the car, it just takes a lot more pumping once everything's installed if you don't bench bleed the slave. If you're not replacing it, you can skip the bench bleeding part.
For great information about bleeding your clutch, visit the following...

and Jack does a pretty good job explaining things here...

Sorry, sheptrans ain't gonna post any tech articles for ya, but they'll sell you a transmission.
