Sears Craftsman FF20 Garden Tractor: First start and drive
We finally got this beast running after fixing a stuck intake valve (it did run before, but on one cylinder). This is the first start and drive after the repair. It still needs some work, the carb needs to be choked constantly at full throttle, and the cylinder that had the stuck valve smokes like crazy. All in all, its an awesome tractor.
Sears Craftsman FF20 Monster Garden Tractor - first start
Here is our new tractor, a Sears FF20 tractor powered by a 20hp opposed
twin Onan engine. This was/is the biggest tractor ever produced by sears.
It has a direct drive Eaton hydro transmission which drives huge 26" rear
wheels. This thing could crush the GT5000 if it had the chance, and
weighing in at 850lbs, that would be no problem for it. The paint job
sucks, as does the seat. But for $200 it was a well worth it!

Tractor Land -The Riding Mower Junkyard
Video from May 2007
Our tractor junkyard, there's just under 50 right now. This video isn't
all of them, another ten or so are in the various structures out back. At
one point we had over 70! Me and my friend have been fixing and selling
these things since high school; but now with real jobs, we hardly find time
to enjoy the few that do work, let alone fix broken ones!

18 HP Onan "No Start" and fix? on 1977 Craftsman GT18 Tractor
I was told this machine wouldn't run on anything but full choke. This
video covers my work on the engine to figure out the problem.
My grandfather's 1977 Craftsman GT18 Garden Tractor that is now mine. A
rugged beast with an Onan 18 HP opposed twin engine connected to a
hydrostatic drive. I believe the tractor was made for sears by Roper.
Awesome Monster Lawn Mower - Start-up and Drive
I thought you'd like a closer look at this awesome lifted lawn tractor. The
owner and builder, Lloyd, was nice enough to give us the details of the
build and even take it for a spin around the yard. He's only had this
machine completed for about a week, so he's just now getting to enjoy all
his hard work. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!

The Craftsman GT5000's dead Kohler diagnosis
Here's our new Craftsman GT5000 Garden Tractor with a broken Kohler Pro
25hp V-Twin motor. Harry Homeowner said it just quit running; he told us
"one of the pistons is stuck". Wasn't really sure what the hell that meant,
so we checked it out as soon as we got it home. Watch and see what we

good thing its an old tractor and he wasnt to concerned.
Craftsman tractor goes up a creek
Well, we got this old junker for $25, and figured it would be a good
candidate for a drive in the creek. It actually didn't do quite as bad as I
had expected a lightweight LT with small turf traction tires to do, I was
able to get it out without having to get wet or muddy. Thank goodness it
had a broken seat switch, so I could get off and leave it in gear and push.
From the surface I didn't realize how many large rocks there were under the
water, otherwise I would have just crossed here and went to another spot to
drive in. So once I drove in I quickly found out that the bottom of this
creek is covered in huge rocks. This little romp firmed up my notion that
modern, vertical shaft tractors suck for this. When the belt gets
submerged, the thing doesn't move well, and the tractor is just too
lightweight to get good traction. Next time I do this I'm going to use an
old heavy-duty horizontal shaft relic -like the Suburban.
1972 Simplicity 4040 Powermax garden tractor
This is a simplicity 4040 Powermax garden tractor with 3 forward and
reverse gears. It has a hydrostatic drive transmission that allows the
tractor to move in forward or reverse with just pushing and pulling one
lever. The 20 hp Onan engine runs like a top and has ample power for
mowing, snow blowing and more. I had to repair many small issues, but now
that they are fixed all I have to do is use it and in the future do some
painting on the outside of the tractor. There is a mowing deck and snow
blower. I have mowed the lawn with this tractor and it is actually fun to
drive while mowing. I would buy another one if I could find one in a
Some horrible news...
We knew it had to come someday. Maybe it was the C30 that pushed it too
far, maybe the dodge. All we know is it sucks. Have to do some looking
into these BS ordinances in my town, as of now it looks like they allow 4
registered vehicles outside the house, so if that is true, then 4 cars will
be there. Still gotta decide what to do with these tractors, gonna try to
find storage for a lot of them, can't bear to part with 'em. The C30 will
most likely be sold, the C20 is going to be stored by a friend of mine, and
the toyota is at another friend's house.
