I decided to go to the work earlier then I normally do and there was no time to preheat my car. At the morning temperature was -35C and that is as cold as it ever gets in here. The car has 480k km on it.

1975 Mercedes Benz 300D VERY Cold Start Winter W115 OM617 (-19F)

I only paid 300 dollars for it, the guy thought it had a blown engine, but it turned out the timing on the injector pump was way off. I ended up taking the injector pump off and putting it on the right teeth, and doing the drip test, and etc. It has rolled over twice now, it has finally just broke in at around 230,000 miles. It runs great and I put about 45 miles a day on it. Best diesel ever made in my opinion. Keep in mind it is VERY cold sometimes in North Idaho, and this afternoon it was a cold day, and it finally started. It starts way better in 30 degrees and up weather! :-)

After refreshing some fuel lines, 4 gallons of diesel and a new starter this 220D started with no issues after sitting for 30 some years.
Planning to make this vehicle a presentable daily driver, so it will see another 30 years.
Mercedes Million Kilometer Test
Mobil 1 put 1 million kilometers on a Mercedes-Benz engine then broke it down to see how the fully synthetic motor oil did in leaving minimal deposits and minimal wear on the engine, demonstrating how Mobil 1 will allow an engine to operate in like new conditions through an extended test length.
-29C degrees cold start LADA
It was really -29* when i tried to start engine of my lada samara(1500 ccm, solex-carburettor).
A battery was fully loaded at home yesterday, and me and my wife rided to our parents something like 20 kilometers on the streets of StPetersburg,Russia. It was 1,5 hours before we achieved parents house and i stopped engine, Jam everywhere!
And night was cold and there was 29 degrees of cold by celsius. And morning begins! At first i tryed to fully pull the choke lever and start engine. There was little rpm - motor oil was too cold and sticky, starter can`t rotate crankschaft.
At the second i turn on the light to make little load to battery, to warm it up and mix the electrolite inside.
At the third i turn on the starter and motor reluctantly maked flashes, and more and more!
Battery - 65 Ah, 5 years old
Carburettor - solex, 12 years old
Motor oil - Esso Ultra 10 w40, 8.000 km
Compression on cylinders(last summer) 9-10-10.5-10.5
Smart CDI -29C cold start
8th December, 2009. Novosibirsk, Russia. Cranks pretty good, but baaaarely starts... Smart fortwo says "leave me alone, dude". ABS and ESP freezed, which is why there's a warning light on the dash. The steering is very hard at the beginning due to freezed suspension. I used Liqui Moly diesel antigel, whis is the best in my oppinion, although a bit pricey.

29F cold start unmodified 84 300D. It was running on 75/25 Veg/diesel. Probably with a small amount of acetone as well. Again, the car is unmodified. Single tank system.
