The all-new Jetta GLI is the most differentiated Jetta GLI model ever made by Volkswagen. With a rich heritage that dates back to 1984, the new Jetta GLI is sure to appeal to both automotive enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike.
The Jetta GLI offers exceptional features and options, for equally impressive pricing. Available in three trim levels, the Jetta GLI has a starting MSRP of $23,495. The GLI Autobahn, with an MSRP of $25,545, adds 18" alloy wheels, sunroof, dual zone climate control, heated V-Tex Leatherette seats and the Fender® Premium Audio System. The top of the line Jetta GLI Autobahn with Navigation adds the RNS-315 navigation system and keyless access with push-button start technology for an MSRP of $26,445.

Volkswagen has brought its latest iteration of the new-for-2011 Jetta -- the turbocharged GLI -- to this year's Chicago Auto Show, and we're quickly falling in love with the Autobahn-ready VW. The Jetta's already handsome (if decidedly sedate) looks are emphasized by larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a more aggressive front fascia and smoked taillamps, and when the whole package is painted in pull-me-over red, we can't help but daydream about whipping the new Jetta GLI around our favorite set of twisty backroads.
The Jetta GLI is indeed eager to perform, too. Under the hood is Volkswagen's turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, rated at 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. Both a manual and dual-clutch transmission are available, the latter of which allows the Jetta GLI to achieve up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway. Not bad.
Look for the 2012 Jetta GLI to go on sale later this year, priced from $23,495.

Volkswagen redesigned the popular Jetta for 2011, and it returns relatively unchanged for 2012. The sixth-generation sedan features larger dimensions inside and out, and there's plenty to like.
The Jetta is offered in five trim levels, with four different powerplants. The base model is the S, which offers a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that makes 115 hp. SE and SEL models are powered by a 170-hp 2.5L 5-cylinder. TDI Jettas come with Volkswagen's proven 2.0L direct-injection turbodiesel, which is good for 140 hp and 236 ft-lb of torque and 42 mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on S, SE and SEL models, while a 6-speed automatic is optional. A 6-speed manual is standard on the TDI, and Volkswagen's slick dual-clutch automatic manual 6-speed is optional.
To better compete with the pricing of compacts that come from Japan, Volkswagen trimmed some items that had previously been standard. For instance, rather than outfitting the Jetta with 4-wheel disc brakes, SE and SEL models have rear drums. Volkswagen also simplified the options list, with 18 equipment combinations available.
S models come equipped with standard goodies such as heated power side mirrors, one-touch up/down power on all four windows, an AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3 playback, 6-way manual adjustment, air conditioning and a 60/40 split folding rear seat. Jetta SE adds V-Tex leatherette seating, an armrest and pass-through for the rear seat and cruise control. SEL trims bring 17-inch alloy wheels, bumper-integrated halogen fog lights, chrome accents, touch-screen navigation, Bluetooth, heated front seats, interior leather accents and a multi-function trip computer.
Packaged convenience options for the SE add many of the premium features of the SEL, including heated seats, a premium audio system, and Bluetooth, while a sunroof package includes an even more robust touch-screen stereo system with a 6-disc in-dash CD changer and SD memory card reader, plus a tinted power sunroof. The sunroof is available on the SEL as well, as is a sport package that adds a specially tuned suspension, sport seats, and aluminum trim on the pedals and door trim.
Standard safety equipment on all Jettas includes anti-lock brakes, driver and front passenger front and side thorax airbags, side curtain airbags, traction and stability control and engine braking assist.

The new VW Jetta GLI comes with Volkswagen's proven 2.0L turbo-charged engine that produces 200 HP and likes to tear up the tarmac. Unlike the base Jetta the GLI gets independent rear suspension, sporty body kit and red stitching on the interior leather plus a soft-touch dashboard, and perhaps more importantly much quicker steering and better handling. Volkswagen has taken the wraps off the US-spec 2012 Jetta GLI.
Described as the "most differentiated" GLI ever made, the car features modified bumpers, a honeycomb grille, smoked taillights, a dual Exhaust system, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Three trim levels will be offered, but the entry-level model comes nicely equipped with sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum trim, and alloy pedals. Moving up to the GLI Autobahn adds a sunroof, dual zone climate control, heated leatherette seats, a Fender premium audio system, and 18-inch alloy wheels. If that doesn't impress you, the range-topping Jetta GLI Autobahn with Navigation boasts all the aforementioned equipment as well as GPS navigation and a push-button ignition.
Under the hood, power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed DSG automatic is also available.
Besides the 2.0T, the GLI is also equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, an XDS cross differential, and four-wheel disc brakes with floating red calipers.
On sale later this year, the Volkswagen Jetta GLI will be priced from $23,495.
