Drag race: McLaren MP4-12C - Ferrari 458 - Porsche 997 Turbo
Here's an interesting drag race between the McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche 911 turbo. Hardly a definitive result, however, interesting to watch nonetheless. Most likely shot during the recent MP4-12C media event in Portimao, Portugal.
Just yesterday McLaren finally divulged the MP4-12C's specifications. With a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a total of 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, the MP4-12C does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.3 seconds (3.1 with special Corsa tires) and has a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) comes in at 9.1 seconds, 8.9 with the Corsa racing tires.

To make the caltracks work you need plenty of front end lift, bump stops were removed and frames notched to get almost 6 1/2 inches of travel. Something Chrysler never designed that suspension for I'd guess. We've since improved the bump steer by replacing parts and resetting the camber / castor as the front has aftermarket parts and plenty of adjustment.
In reality it's difficut to fully eliminate without going to a strut type front end, though some people appear to have done it on stock stuff, it seems to be a common chrysler trait. Check out the superstock video's from the '70s and most Mopars do it also check out my other real time wheelie vids you see that the wobble lasts only a fraction of a second.

After a while of being on YouTube, I realized that there were many, many people who requested a "supercars within los angeles" style video. I've always wanted to make one, but I never really went to meets that often (maybe once or twice a month) and couldn't provide sufficient footage, and who wants to see a video of just 2 meets?
SO, over the past two months I finally got around to going into areas like Beverly Hills on a much more frequent basis, particularly for dining (the food is too good in BH...) and also for the cars, of course. Between meets, street sightings and other events, I'd say that the Los Angeles region really holds it down.
Another reason why I'm going to start making these videos is to really try to put LA on the car map. Sure, we've been recognized, but mainly by Statesmen, not quite by many Europeans yet. When most think of supercar hotspots, it's always the same list: Paris, London, Monaco. Well, LA is here and alive, do not underestimate this area!!!

1ST PAGANI HUAYRA IN LONDON!! Driving on the road! Looks insane.
Now, I have not been a fan of the Pagani Huayra, but it has to be said, this car has amazing road presence, some Pagani have never failed to achieve with any of their cars. Just as I was going into the back of Lamborghini London I saw the Huayra, door up... next thing a man hops in and starts it up. I wondered if it was going to be going out on the road, an thankfully it did. Awesome looking thing from the rear, not sure on the front but like alot of cars, over time it will grow on me. No denying though, this car is something VERY special and the attention to detail is just amazing... Check out some videos on the EVO magazine website if you havn't already, some great footage by Mr. Metcalfe!
Hope Pagani are onto a winner here as they already produce my favourite road car!
