2013 Ford Taurus SHO Road Test
Can you drift a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO like Nascar racer Carl Edwards does in the commercial? I tried and couldn't. This press car didn't have the ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management system so try as I might, the car would never get sideways.
I did however find out how great this car is at being a world class sedan. Around town and in the canyons, this 4400 pound vehicle feels flat out nimble.
It's also pretty fast, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds will get your attention and the immensely capable all wheel drive system, huge brakes and fantastic suspension will keep it.
I'll go on record for loving the eco-Boost engine platform. The 3.5L Twin turbo V6 is only mildly laggy at the low end but more than makes up for that once it starts to rev. The practical side is that you could use all 365 horsepower in this car and still manage fuel mileage in the mid 20's and then on the highway settle in at about 30 MPG.
Would I own one, heck yes...as long as it had that ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management systems so that I could four wheel drift the tires off the thing.

2010 SHO vs 2010 Camaro SS
In Luskville, west of Ottawa, Canada. Second portion of 1/4 mile was in bad shape, very bumpy! The trap speed are slower by about 2mph because of that...
I started late R/T of .349 for SHO and .03 for the SS :
SHO = 12.74 at 108mph (intake, Exhaust, suspension and tune LMS stage 4+)
SS = 12.85 at 110mph (intake and tune)
We ran all day together and I was consistent with my 12,7's, but he ran anywhere between 12.76 and 13.85, depending on his launch. On that race, he had a good launch.... As for the SHO, it is AWD,so no excuses. : )
Ford Taurus SHO vs Ford Mustang GT
Two of the greatest cars I've ever owned. My 1990 Ford Taurus SHO, highly modified, up against my 2005 Ford Mustang GT, bone stock. Both are five speed manuals. Mustang had 300HP stock (factory crankpower spec). Taurus had roughly 254HP modified (crank horsepower calculation based on Dynoplot). I had decided to trim my fleet a bit and list the SHO for sale, $3,000/OBO. After the testdrive here, the buyer said "no negotiations necessary, I'll give you full asking price."
2010 SHO vs 2007 Magnum SRT8
Magnum had a better reaction time (.04 vs .19), I caught up with him and had a better time 12.81 at 107.17 vs 12.89 at 108.21), but because I started late, it doesn't show that way. I have been running between 12.77 and 12.83 all day, him between 12.79 and 12.98... We had good races, cheers Yohan!
Mods SHO : Non-PP, Stage 4+ by Livernois, custom Exhaust, Airaid cold air intake, H&R springs.
Mods Magnum SRT8 : Diablo tuned, around 465 hp/465tq
