Cold War Motors just bought this great old Citroen DS. It's a bit tatty and will need a restoration (as soon as I'm finished my other one!), but still runs and drives nicely. These old Cits are a bit grumpy in the cold, and this one hasn't been on the road for a while now, so the battery was pretty tired. I hooked up some cables to a better battery to see if we could get her running for a last little drive before it gets put into storage. I just love these cars, and I wanted a break (wagon) to go with my sedan. This one is a standard shift with power steering and brakes. Looks like Stella wants to go for a ride, too!
Starting a Citroen DS after a 27 year rest...
This car was off the road for 27 years. The engine came from the other DS (See video "Engine swap...") which was also off the road for about 20 years.
I borrowed the "Sweet" from Dave's Farm (Thanks Dave). I hope he's not gonna sue me :oD

1952 Hudson Saved from the Crusher!
Hi! Cold War Motors just bought this sweet old Hudson Pacemaker to stop it from being turned into more Camrys. Its not exactly mint, but I just love the patina on this original paint car. Maybe we'll try to get it roadworthy and just drive it the way it is. It'll need the interior redone, and the engine is gone, but its fairly solid and complete. I hope you like it!

Kaufdorf Autofriedhof - Switzerland's vintage car graveyard.
It was the biggest graveyard of its kind in Europe -- a vast metal jungle of more than 1,000 rusting vintage cars including forgotten British Wolseleys, "sit up and beg" Ford Prefects, rotting Porsches and even the wreck of a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.
The collection of decaying old-timers, which go back to the late-1920s, sits in makeshift corrugated iron garages and among trees on the edge of Kaufdorf some 10 miles south of Switzerland's capital Bern.
After surviving for 75 years, the authorities have declared that the collection is an environmental hazard and decided to clear it by court order. But the plan has provoked uproar among concerned Kaufdorf locals and more than just a few other Swiss residents. A campaign to preserve the site was started when an open day was held. The organisers expected about 50 people to attend, but 10,000 turned up. Franz Messerli, whose father founded the car cemetery, said: "We never expected such interest. Our aim is to preserve it for posterity as a national work of art."
Mr Messerli's father, Walter, opened what was originally intended as a vehicle breaker's yard in 1933. A part-time racing driver and scrap-metal dealer, he was fascinated by cars and even taught himself to be a mechanic. At its peak, his collection numbered about 2,000 vehicles.
Rocky Mountain Road Trip in the Citroen DS!
Hi!
This time we're taking this old Citroen on a scenic road trip through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I saw a video from car and driver, and I thought it was bullshit the way they portrayed Citroens as unreliable, when all they had to do was a little maintenance and the car would have been fine. I decided to put my money where my mouth is and attempt a long-distance road trip in my even older Citroen. I took no crew, no trailer, and no ugly Escalade to pull myself around if it went wrong. Cold Start the 1972 Plymouth Fury! Brrrr...
Hi! Its cold and there's a lot of snow on the ol' 72 Fury. Lets see if it will go. I bought this car about 5 years ago, and I've been using it as a daily driver since then. It shows about 75000 miles, so it should last me a while yet. I like these fuselage models, especially the 72 Fury. Its a mean looking old thing! I actually hit a moose with this car last week, and it didn't leave a mark on the car! No wonder the cops liked these things, they're incredibly tough, even if they are a bit hard to look at. Citroen DS21 Engine start UP&DOWN
The Citroën DS was an executive car produced by the French manufacturer Citroën between 1955 and 1975. Styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and the French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre, the DS was known for its aerodynamic futuristic body design and innovative technology, including a hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension.
The DS came in third in the 1999 Car of the Century competition, recognizing the world's most influential auto designs, and was named the most beautiful car of all time by Classic & Sports Car magazine.
