3.8L Supercharged V6
In 1989 and for the first time in Cougar history, no V8 engine would be offered. The lower cowl of the new MN-12 chassis did not allow the traditional 5.0L to clear the hood; engineers would continue to work on getting the 5.0L to fit without a power decrease and finally get it into the cars for 1991. In the meantime, the base engine was the naturally-aspirated 140 HP 3.8L V6. The XR7 and the Thunderbird Super Coupe would receive the all-new supercharged 3.8L V6. By incorporating the Eaton M90 the motor put out a respectable 210 horsepower and over 300 lbs of torque. Optional on the XR7 was a Mazda-derived M5R2 5-speed manual transmission. The "truck" transmission was chosen because it could manage the supercharged motor's torque production. Eaton had been urging Ford to incorporate the modified Roots-type positive displacement pump since 1977. The 1989 and 1990 Cougar XR7 was winner when Ford finally decided to use it on the 3.8L V6.

***i have been getting a lot of questions on how i got that sick sound out of my V6, so i am not made of money so i did not want to buy some fancy Exhaust system that wouldn't really open up the Exhaust, so i took a jigsaw or reciprical saw and cut off the one stock muffler, and had just a cut off pipe right behind the left rear tire. this sounded a little crappy, so i took it to a little mexican muffler shop in melrose park,IL. and told them to put duals on with no mufflers. (straight pipes). i also bought a resonator substitute pipe off rockauto.com.
so i have straight pipes from the cats back. and no i have never got pulled over and i still pass emission tests (my way of stickin it to the man!)

Supercharged 3.8L Mustang
This was a video made a while back with my stock block v6 Mustang and a vortech v1-s trim blower. This video was made with nearly bald goodyear eagle f1 tires, and the stock open differential on a 3.27 gear. The car had a pretty crappy tune in this video and through pretty much all of the videos.
