Surviving HOT ROD Drag Week! - Roadkill Episode 9
On this episode of Roadkill, HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan hit the road with 500 of their friends for Drag Week. It's the most brutal test anywhere of real drag-racing, street-driven cars, as the competitors hit the road for 1,400 miles to race five times at four different drag strips in five days in a battle to post the lowest average elapsed time at the end of the week. The winner is crowned the HOT ROD Fastest Street Car in America. It's long days and short nights but that's nothing new for the Roadkill guys! We know THEY will survive, but will the competitors? Mitch Allread: Don't Call it a Rat Rod... - BIG MUSCLE
It packs a 400 hp diesel out of a Ford F-350, a Dana 80 rear-end, and a look and feel that would make Max Rockatansky feel right at home. This is Mitch Allread's custom fabricated creation and it is, without a doubt, one of the coolest things on the road today. This is a machine that transcends the traditional hot rod formula by breaking down borders and setting its own stage. Whereas most hot-rods are built by custom shops utilizing parts from mail order catalogs, Mitch took a different approach and fabricated just about everything on his ride by hand. Calling this a rat-rod would be an insult - a work of art however... that'd be just fine.

The 2012 Fastest Street Car in America! - HOT ROD Unlimited Episode 19
This episode of HOT ROD Unlimited screams with action from 200-mph street cars at one of the most grueling events in all of motorsports: HOT ROD Drag Week, presented by Gear Vendors. This is the most brutal test anywhere of real drag-racing, street-driven cars, as the competitors hit the road for 1,400 miles to race five times at four different drag strips in five days in a battle to post the lowest average elapsed time at the end of the week. The winner is crowned the HOT ROD Fastest Street Car in America. In this video, we'll follow the chase for that title in Drag Week's most outrageous class, called Unlimited. Imagine cars that run 7 seconds in the quarter mile, in excess of 200 mph, and then drive on public roads—in the rain, over potholes, whatever it takes—to make it to the next race day to do it again. Five times. Ever see a 2,800-horsepower car hauling its own trailer full of tools and parts? You will here. When you wonder how the staff of HOT ROD could ever make the statement that a Lamborghini Aventador "isn't $400,000 fast," this video will prove why with legit American street cars in a battle of speed and survival. 1929 Ford Coupe Hot Rod ~ Running Day 1
So the first day off the trailer we took out the car and it died on us leaving us stranded. Started troubleshooting with the builder and found out it wasn't getting spark. Tracing wires we found that the ballast resistor wire had been pulled out of the spade connector. Simple fix so we're back up and running. More videos to come.

Junkyard 'Cuda Rescue, With Nitrous Oxide! - Roadkill Episode 11
On this episode of Roadkill, David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of HOT ROD magazine fly out of town, buy a car from a junkyard, make it run and drive, do burnouts, add Nitrous, drag race twice, almost die, and the auction off the car at the end. The scene begins at CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, Texas, where the guys score a '67 Plymouth Barracuda with a 360 V8, but without a carburetor, interior, glass, or brakes. By the time they sort out a number of other mechanical woes, they're off for some burnouts and some racing at North Star Dragway, right next to the Auto Ranch. Then it's a 300-mile drive to Houston for the NMCA Lone Star Nationals race. But, as you've come to expect from these guys, that doesn't exactly go smoothly. But then they add NOS Nitrous and it makes everything ok as they hang out with Jeff Lutz and Tim Reed from HOT ROD Drag Week right before they have to sell the car and hit the plane home.
