The General Lee - Behind the Build of "Lee 1"
This is an impromptu interview that we did with Jim Shine, one of the
people that coordinated the restoration of "Lee 1," the very first Dukes of
Hazzard General Lee car. The video was shot at the 2012 Scottsdale
Barrett-Jackson auction 1 day before the car was sold.
Jim described every detail of the restoration, from the crushed frame rails
the the use of cheap Acme orange paint over the original copper. He also
revealed why every General Lee has vinyl roof trim (but no vinyl roof) and
how THIS General set the template for every General ever made.
The video is hosted by me, Robert Kibbe of The MuscleCar Place Podcast.
General Lee Destroyed by Fire - Fifteen Years of Fun

My wife is the major contributor to this inspirational video to rebuild the
General Lee. The fire started inside the house from a sump pump
malfunction. The pump kicked on when there was no water in the sump pump
hole and ran so long that it caught on fire. The fire then traveled up the
ejection pipe and caught the staircase that the pump was under on fire,
then spread into the hallway, living room, and garage. What the fire
didn't destroy, the intense heat and smoke did, including the entire second
level of the house. We were out of town when it started.

place to rest from being up all night. The 2 are Exhausted and the General Lee pulled into a

before going to into a sleep. "What A Night."

General Lee rc slo motion burnouts

parts of them in other videos, but these are longer versions...can't get
enough suspension and body flex while burning out in the dirt...lol.
Filmed this with a Casio EX-FC150 camera.
