How To Reset The Maintenance Light on a 1999-04 Honda Odyssey & 1998-02 Honda Accord
Very easy, all you have to do is hold the trip button for 10 seconds, until the light goes out. A common mistake people make is, they press the button after turning the key to the run position. You have to press the button BEFORE turning the key.

I show you how to replace your O2 Sensor. This is being performed on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe. Automotive oxygen sensors, colloquially known as O2 sensors, make modern electronic fuel injection and emission control possible. They determine if the air fuel ratio exiting a gas-combustion engine is rich (with unburnt fuel vapor) or lean (with excess oxygen).

P0401 Honda Accord, Cleaning EGR Passages - EricTheCarGuy
I know I'm jumping around but it will all become clear in the end, I hope. This is once again that same Accord that I worked on but this time I focus on cleaning the EGR passages. Over time these passages become clogged with what is called "hard carbon deposits", many speculate as to the origins of this material but it is in my opinion the product of condensation and carbon buildup inside these passages that seems to contribute to this problem. The fix is pretty straight forward as you can see but the diagnosis can be tricky at times. Sometimes the check engine light will come on for an EGR flow code, but on earlier models EGR flow is not detected by the ECU and in those cases it might manifest as a failure of an emissions test for high NOx emissions. When this is the case the symptoms sometimes include, surging on the highway or a misfire under load. For the most part EGR's are easy to check but there are some EGR systems that are very difficult to service and repair. All I can say is to consult with the service manual or a knowledgeable tech whenever you run into a system your not familiar with.

Using a spark plug defouler kit, I install a "buffer" in between the downstream oxygen sensor and the catalytic converter. Quite often, frustrated car owners get the P0420 code for reasons other than a bad cat. I have heard of people getting the code just because they removed the converter and reinstalled it. It can also happen if you run your vehicle out of gas etc... etc...
It is also common for car owners to get the P0420 code, replace the converter, and both o2 sensors-- only to have the code come back after 1000 miles or so. This can be a very frustrating, time consuming and of course-- expensive venture. Here is one way to resolve the issue. Good luck and have fun!
1999 Honda Accord fluctuating idle problem
This 1999 Honda Accord (4cylinder, 4 speed automatic) has a fluctuating idle problem. This problem only occurs in Park and maybe Neutral. I have not tried Neutral.

I could not find a good tutorial on how to do this, so I filmed mine with a GoPro Hero as a reference. This is in a 1996 Honda Accord 4 door 4 cylinder automatic. I am not a tech, mechanic, or anything of the sort, so you will probably see 19 things I did wrong, etc. I am not claiming to be any kind of authority on the matter, just a guy that would have benefited from having something like this prior to doing the R and R.
I should also mention that I mistakenly purchased airbags for a 1995, and the plugs are different. It may be as simple as clipping the old wire and splicing the new plug, however with my limited knowledge I didn't want to take the chance. I am selling a pair with module for only $300 if anyone is interested.

Ever wanted to do a complete Automatic Transmission Service with a Fluid Flush and Fluid Change! Well now you can do it in 10 Minutes! This DIY is super easy really fast and ridiculously cheap. The reason we didn't change the filter is because the filter on this transmission is internal and you would have to take apart the transmission to get to it. There is a a filter for the shift solenoid that can be cleaned to improve shifting. There is a small black round filter for the transmission, its under the air box near the solenoid that could be changed if you want to be more thorough.

This video shows you the easy way to turn that pesky engine light off. Remove jewelry and use good judgment when doing this. I did this many times with no problem. After completing these steps, drive at least 30 mi. to reset computer engine. This was performed on a 2000 Ford Mustang convertible V6 engine. Good luck!
