Jim Plimpton's ProCharger supercharged 572ci Ford-powered '88 Thunderbird on the Dyno at the 2009 Car Craft Nationals. He won the Dyno challenge by putting out 1,424 horsepower to the wheels, and that was with mechanical problems.
Y-Block powered FED at Famoso Raceway
This is me (Tim McMaster) and my Y-Block Ford powered front engine gas dragster Elwood. It's our first time running the 1320 at Famoso Raceway just north of Bakersfield, CA in Oct. 2010. We did fairly well for our first time out, the car ran great and had very few problems. All this on my spare pickup engine.
The Sound of 1424HP
Car Craft Nationals 2009. July 17th,18th,19th. St. Paul, MN
Ford Thunderbird, All-Aluminum 572, F3 Pro-Charger. The car actually makes over 1700HP to the wheels but the day before the owner discovered one(of two) blow-off valves was cracked at the based where it was welded to the piping. They fixed it right quick by placing the Car Craft license plate givin' to them from entering in the show and wrapped a slab of thick rubber around the license plate and tied it all down with 3 hose clamps. This car won the Mobil 1 Dyno Challenge for the weekend with this pull.

Mustang with big Procharger on the dyno part 1 of 2
Big Procharger on this little Mustang and he lays down 917 rear wheel horsepower with the tires spinning on the rollers on his first run. Makes me miss my little supercharged 5.0 :(
They spray some belt dressing on the tires and have another go at it in my next video.
1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe dyno
My ex-turboCoupe running a 306 and single turbo. Couldn't get a good tune as we found cylinder one only had 10lbs compression. Partial pass didn't do too bad at 473hp@5400rpm on a MustangDyno.
1,013 Horsepower Datsun 260Z Car Craft 2009 Summer Nationals
This thing hit 1,013 running E85 and NOS on its first and only pull... the owners decided not to do a 2nd which was wise... the Exhaust had burned 90% of the way through one of the straps and it would have snapped on the 2nd pull.
Chevy powered '88 Thunderbird
1988 turbo Coupe w/350 Chevrolet engine. Did not buy a kit to install this...everything is home-made or built from modified Ford/GM OEM parts.
1988 Thunderbird Turbocoupe 2
This is a follow up video to my first video. Since that video weve installed the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder so it finally moves. This is the first time its moved in awhile. The head gasket is blown.
