MOST EXPENSIVE PICK-UP TRUCK EVER (PART II)
This was the Ford Super Chief. Back in 2006 I did a feature for Car magazine on the concept of Ford's answer to a Rolls Royce quality pick-up. Designed by Peter Horbury, we got a ride in the working truck with Pete at the wheel. It was driven through the Detroit Dearborn factory, where they stamp out doors for F150 trucks. The workers had no idea we were going to rock up in a priceless concept with Peter driving it. Afterwards we went to Peter's house in the suburbs for afternoon tea. It was a memorable day. See the other videos for more on the Super Chief.

F650
Ok heres the stats folks. 1) It is expensive. 2) It resides in Idaho 3) It gets about 6mpg (diesel) 4) Yes I'm an over-privileged child 5) Yes I have a small penis 6) No it's not as good as your Chevy/Dodge/Nissan/Jeep 7) It tows anything that is towable 8) Yes it sucks to park 9) Yes, most people move over when it approaches from behind/side 10) And for the non-haters...thank you for all the positive comments. It's not even my truck. It belongs to a friend. I was using it for a couple months for a promo vehicle.

2012 Ford Police Interceptor Concept Video
New 2012 Ford Police Interceptor Concept. Ford will release more info on the car by 2011 and it may replace the Crown Vic with this in 2012. Ford may add this to there lineup of police cars with the new Taurus. The car includes a powered clamshell "shaker" hood, which covers the engine. The fullsize sedan is based on a stretched version of the rear wheel drive Mustang's Ford D2C platform, featuring a solid rear axle. The body is proportioned with short front overhang and a long rear overhang, and features a low roof line and a high belt line, when compared to other Ford sedans like the Ford Taurus, with a wedged profile. The Interceptor incorporates a four-point "belt and suspenders" harness seat belt design in the front and rear seats, with inflatable safety belts for rear seat passengers. The four-point belt represents a possible next-generation safety belt system that is designed to be more comfortable and easier to use than traditional three-point belts. The dash, headliner, steering wheel, and four low-back bucket seats are wrapped in leather. * Powertrain: 5.0-liter Cammer V-8 / 400 hp (300 kW) / flexible fuel * Transmission: Manual six-speed gearbox * Chassis Dimensions: o Overall length: 201.6 in (5121 mm). o Wheelbase: 120.8 in (3068 mm). o Overall width: 76.4 in (1941 mm). o Overall height at curb: 54.8 in (1392 mm). o Front track width: 66.5 in (1689 mm). o Rear track width: 67.8 in (1722 mm). * Suspension o Front: Double wishbone independent o Rear: 3-Link design with Panhard rod * Interior o Front Headroom: 37.5 in (953 mm). o Rear Headroom: 35.9 in (912 mm). o Front Legroom: 42.3 in (1074 mm). o Rear Legroom: 35.6 in (904 mm).

Mad Max - Last V8 Interceptor Axle-hop Stop!
Met up with Justice, who runs Maxrockatansky.org and did a little bit of filming near Lake Lewisville. Thought I'd throw in the axle-hop stop that you see at the beginning of MM2: The Road Warrior. He doesn't throw it into reverse, as many erroneously believe. It's this type of stop I demonstrate here.

2010 Ford Police Interceptor Concept [1080p]
Later today, Ford will officially unveil its new Police Interceptor at a private fleet sales event in Las Vegas, but the first images of the new vehicle were posted this morning on the company's website. As has been rumored for some time, Ford will be adapting the Taurus to take over for the aged Crown Victoria, which is finally being euthanized in September 2011. At this point, we don't have any mechanical details on the new cop car. We wouldn't be surprised if Ford offers the Interceptor in two forms: a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 version with front-wheel drive could serve for all those local applications like liaison officers, supervisors, etc. where extra performance is not needed. The true Interceptors for highway patrol applications will probably use the SHO powertrain with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and all-wheel drive. This twin-turbo cop car would provide the first real performance challenge to the increasingly popular Dodge Charger while likely getting much better fuel economy (not to mention GM's upcoming V8-powered, RWD, Zeta-based cruiser), and we presume that the Blue Oval will field the new units with the obligatory upgrades, including a more robust suspension, cooling system, electrical system and, hopefully, brakes.Increased power, enhanced sophistication Ford Police Interceptor engine strategy will provide a V-6 lineup that performs equal to or better than V-8 engines. The lineup comes with two powertrain options, allowing police to choose the powerhouse that best meets their patrol requirements. A highly efficient 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivering at least 263 horsepower and E85 compatibility is 25 percent more efficient than the 4.6-liter Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) V-8 offered in the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Plus, an all-new 3.5-liter EcoBoostâ„¢ V-6 twin-turbocharged, direct-injection engine will deliver at least 365 horsepower and 350 ft.-lb. of torque across a broad rpm range. "We have an extremely powerful standard engine, and to top that off, we also offer our exclusive EcoBoost technology," said Tobin. "Both are designed for the severe-duty cycle that police engage in on a daily basis." EcoBoost brings municipalities and police fleet administrators the first ultra high-performance, yet environmentally friendly, police pursuit vehicle. Offering performance that bests normally aspirated V-8 powered police cruisers and comparable fuel economy and CO2 emissions to the standard V-6, EcoBoost represents a triple-win for police departments, the tax-paying constituents they serve and the environment they help collectively to preserve. A high-capacity six-speed SelectShift Automaticâ„¢ transmission delivers the power of EcoBoost to the road via the sophisticated torque-sensing all-wheel-drive system. "Ford remains committed to leading the police vehicle market, and our new Police Interceptor demonstrates how much engineering and innovation we're willing to invest to address the unique needs of those who protect and serve communities throughout America," Fields said.
