KRE WARP 6 headed 535 cid Pontiac engine idel on dyno
This is the fist KRE WARP 6 headed 535 cid Pontiac engine at idel on the Dyno. This engine is
built using a K&M Performance Parts MR-1 block, with KRE's canted valve
WARP 6 cylinder heads. This is a fully machined casting with water jackets
that flows over 400 cfm as cast. This is the ULTIMATE Pontiac cylinder
Sehr Performance Machine / Randi's 400 Pontiac
Randi came to us with a 400 Pontiac project for his 1968 Firebird. He
didn't want to go crazy on the build but he wanted something that would
give him performance that is better than original.
With that goal in mind Scott did some custom porting on his heads, upgraded
his valve train and went with a Custom COMP cam and lifters and aluminum
roller rockers. We maintained his complete original rotating assembly but
had to re-balance his crankshaft, it had been poorly balanced sometime in
the past and was out by 127 grams on one end and 181 grams on the other. A
single plane intake with a 780 Quick Fuel carb got it breathing and the
fire is lit with a Flamethrower ignition package. Custom cut and fitted
8mm plug wires are standard equipment here at Sehr. Headman custom coated
headers will be added at installation time.
The results were a satisfying 543.5 Hp @ 5500rpm and torque reading of
519.8 @ 5400rpm. Corrected to sea level the numbers are 577 Hp and 551 Tq
with nearly 400 lb of torque at 3500rpm.

Basic Engine Building DVD - Chapter 25: Cylinder Block
By this time your block is disassembled and in the machine shop. One of the
most informative sections, here we take you behind the scenes to show what
goes on while your away. We show the process of align honing the main
bearing bore that is needed before anything else can be machined. Then the
block deck is leveled and machined as needed for the new head gaskets to
seat properly. And finally the cylinder walls are bored out just shy of
their new size, which will be achieved when they're honed.

PONTIAC - The Glory Years! Part 1 of 5
(1956-93). Some great basic Pontiac history, along with the CARS and PEOPLE
(Bunkie Knudsen, John Delorean, Jim Wangers, Pete Estes, etc) who made
Pontiac great in those years. In 1956 Bunkie Knudsen was hired as Pontiac's
General Manager. He was told by GM "Turn Pontiac around in 5 years or the
division is gone". Within about a year he quickly assembled a great team.
Knudsen was fortunate enough to pick up engineer John Delorean from Packard
when that company closed, Delorean later became the father of the GTO and
MANY Pontiac Innovations. Knudsen was also fortunate enough to lure a
brilliant "Olds Rocket V8" engineer away from Oldsmobile---Pete Estes who
helped the Pontiac V8 breath as well as it could.
Pontiac V8 Water Pump Modification Tip Video V8TV "Routy" 69 Firebird
http://www.v8tvshow.com/69firebird - 314-783-8325 - The Pontiac 400 V8
engine that we're using in our 1969 Firebird project called "Routy" came to
us completely as a rebuilt long-block with all new parts inside, but we
were charged with the task of doing the final assembly and detail work.
This time, we're test-assembling the brackets and parts on the engine, and
came across a great tip to help keep your Pontiac V8 engine running cool.
