Turbo Buick pt.4 Powermaster to Hydroboost performance brake conversion
We went to Art Carr's shop in Huntington Beach, CA to do a high performance
HydroBoost brake installation on
Art's personal turbo Buick. This is the

The video is in four parts, covering the full installation procedure, all
of the fast driving is in part four.

Performance Air-Hydraulic Systems, Electric-Hydraulic Brake Systems & Bosch
We build and Rebuild endless varieties of new and classic brakes for every
type of vehicle and trailer. It started with George Sweeting as Power Brake
Service in 1950 who worked for the railroads and Lockhead, then run by his
son Bob Sweeting who learned about modifying cars while drag racing in the
60's, and Bob's son Matt Sweeting (who grew up in all of this) is now
running SPE∑D, a company that designs and fabricates good looking and
well working automotive products.
PBS was a Warehouse Distributor for Bendix for 20 years until they sold
they sold their Power Brake Division to Bosch, which is when we became a
special modification contractor with Bosch for their power brakes - which
come on most new American vehicles. Our ability to design brake systems,
rather than just replace rotors and pads, has taken us to amazing places
and we have worked on amazing projects. We have:
Vacuum Brake - Conversions, Upgrades, and Modifications
Wilwood and Brembo Disc Brake Kits
Stainless Braided Hoses
Classic Car / Muscle Car Stock Brake Restoration and Rebuilding (Corvette,
Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Ford & GM Truck,
Mopar, Rolls Royce)
Light Truck / Medium Truck Hydro-Boost Replacement Parts and Conversions
Medium Truck / Heavy Truck Hydro-Max, Air brake, and Air-hydraulic systems

Conversions for the obsolete Buick Grand National, T-bird SC, Land Rover,
Jeep and all other electric brake Booster / electric powermasters
Modified brakes for Altered Bed Fleet Vehicles
Modified sensitivity for the Handicaped
Disc/Drum and Disc/Disc Proportioning Valves
We have worked on everything from propane powered trams to roller coasters,

double decker buses, and a Freightliner racing truck. Our favorite is
working on big engine muscle cars that make too little vacuum and need more

1966 Buick Convertible Barn Find Rescue, Part 1
This is the story of a '66 Buick Special convertible that had been
abandoned in Arizona in 1978 by the family of Rick Pewe, editor of 4-Wheel
& Off-Road magazine. In 2011, the guys from HOT ROD Magazine, in
conjunction with Rick, spent four days bringing the car back from the dead
with plans to drive it home from Phoenix to Los Angeles. This is part 1,
with the hacking fun the guys had rescuing the car. Look for part two,
loaded with road-trip hilarity. The story is printed in the September 2011

Buick quietly re-entered the supercar wars in the late eighties with a turbocharged 3.8 liter V6 engine in an all
black Regal. The car was so outrageously fast that its now among the most
collectible cars of all time.

1928 Buick Country Club Coupe 1st Start in 50 Years
My Great Grandfather bought this car in 1929 from the Buick dealer in
Perryman, Md. with only a few hundred miles on it. He paid $900 for it, a
hefty sum considering most new cars at the time were under $400. He was the
last one to hear it run until today. By the way, I could not tell while
looking through the camera if the lights were on or off.

Here's my "watch how fast it flies out the door" car of the week. If you
don't snatch this one up quickly, I guarantee someone else will. Hesitate
at your own risk. This Regal is 1 of only 1575 T-Types built in '85.
In the '80s, when the muscle car renaissance began, automakers rediscovered
using technology, not cubic inches. If you were paying attention to cars
back then, you know that one of the undisputed horsepower kings of the
mid-80s was the rear-wheel-drive Buick Regal with its turbocharged 3.8 liter V6. Eventually they evolved
to the 1987 GNX, which was reputedly so wickedly powerful and fast that the
FBI ordered the final 300 that rolled off the assembly line. Whether this
is true or not is the cause of much speculation, but there's no denying the
cars were brutally fast and responded well to small modifications. Even
today, Grand National Buicks are tearing up drag strips all across the
country and there's a thriving aftermarket dedicated to the restoration and
modification of these really cool cars.
This '85 Regal T-Type is in great condition. The T-Type was not a Grand
National, although it features the same hardware under the skin. While the
Grand National was completely monochromatic, the T-Types retained the
Regals chrome bumpers and grille and featured a slightly different
interior. The panels are straight with no signs of damage or rust. The
black paint is very nice and the chrome bumpers on this car are in
excellent condition without a ding or parking lot dent anywhere.
The V6 turbocharged 3.8 litre has only
80,410 miles on it, and is 100% stock. Look at the pictures and you can see
how well-maintained this T-Type is. Everything is in top-flight condition.
There's not any additional flash under there, but it is factory original
and correct, which is probably a lot more important on a relatively rare
car like this one. The hot turbo motor
is backed by GM's ultra-reliable 4-speed automatic. This Buick offers great
off-the-line go and impressive high-speed cruising abilities. Sitting at
all four corners are a set of Grand National rims and nicely treaded tires.
Inside, the all original interior is more luxury than sport. As a Buick,
this T-Type is loaded with all the features you'd expect: power windows,
power locks, climate control, an aftermarket stereo system with MP3 player,
tilt wheel, and power front seats. All of the interior lights work. The
upholstery is a bit faded, but aside from that, is in great condition. The
seats are comfortable for long stretches and again, they are what the
factory was putting out in 1985. The trunk has a car cover and spare, and
it's just as nice as the rest of the interior.
Documentation includes the body build sheet found on the underside of the
Everybody knows about the legendary Grand National Buicks, and nobody
scoffs at them. They're incredibly easy to modify to outrageous power
levels and highly collectable, even today. The T-Types are arguably rarer
and certainly more unique with their slightly more luxury-oriented mission.
This T-Type is an incredible bargain, and you can almost bet on the fact
that these cars will only become more valuable in the coming years. Pick
this one up and enjoy it while it appreciates! Call Tom today at
