1972 Datsun 240z walking on a new Nissan 370z at the racelegal 1/8mile strip.
In the 370Z's defense, the driver was a new to drag racing and was still getting use to his car.
The datsun is running a high compression 6 cylinder L28 with SU carbs, and mikey drag radials.
Datsun 240z 196hp though SU carbs. MSA Z-Bash 2011
1972 Datsun 240z on the Dyno at the Motorsport Auto Z-Bash 2011.
Made 196hp though SU carbs. Dyno pull stopped at 6300rpm but the car is built to run upwards of 7500rpm.
Drove straight off the street, no tuning, 100+ degree air temp.
240z's Drag Racing. Ugly car wins
240z vs. 240z.... 3.1L vs. 2.8L.... ITB's vs. SU's.....
Left lane, black car, 240z 3.1L stroker with individual throttlebody fuel injection running e85.
Right lane, orange car, (me) 240z 2.8L SU carburetors running 110VP.
SU car left the ITB car behind several races in a row. Its amazing how far SU's will take you with some massaging and a well built engine. This pass was a 8.64ET at 80mph (orange car)

My 1973 Datsun 240z in the 1/8th mile against a 2010 Camero. Datsun is powered by a high compression L28 with SU carbs.
8.8sec ET, 80mph

May I present to you, a pair of 240Z Fairladys. That sounded like a question, didn't it? I guess that did too.
So, two, race-tuned Fairladys who race/have raced at Autopolis in Oita Prefecture in Kyushu. They look to have/had the goods, if you ask me.

The STILLEN 500 HP Supercharged Nissan 370Z - TUNED
TUNED Visits racing legend Steve Millen's STILLEN in Costa Mesa, CA to see what happens when he gets his hands on the Nissan 370Z. Already a potent machine, what happens when STILLEN upgrades pretty much everything? Fortunately, it doesn't suck.
Onforza - 300zx vs 370Z
www.onforza.com - When Nissan built the first 300zx, they had no idea that it would take them over 20 years to improve on the Z-car formula. The 370z is Ferrari fast, and works hard to differentiate itself from its older brother. But with depreciation in mind, are you better off buying a 370z, which retails in the mid 30k range with the bits you want, or should you buy a secondhand 300zx and fix it up to be faster?
