DSC saved my life!
BMW's Dyanamic Stability Control caught my spin before it caught me! Hydroplane!!! I was doing between 85-100 mph in the rain (I know -- tsk) when I hit a huge puddle. The numerous sensors in my car detected the spin, applied the necessary corrective braking force to individual wheels while modulating throttle input to correct the spin and send me on my intended path. THANK YOU BMW! Coincidence I was filming it.

Electronic Stability Program (ESP) side-by-side comparison
Volkswagen has announced plans to install the safety feature, Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), as a standard trait in all of its 2009 models -- ahead of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) 2012 deadline. Volkswagen reports it is the first non-luxury manufacturer to include a standard electronic stabilization system on all of its vehicles. The NHTSA predicts that if every vehicle was equipped with ESP, an estimated 10,000 lives could be saved each year.
